Hello O2, 

I have moved to new address and there was already another internet connection using by the existing tenant. So I couldn’t take my O2 there. That’s why I have requested for connection termination on 23rd March 2023 from online form. The termination was extraordinary from 31st March. One of the O2 customer service agents provided me the link for the online termination. I have also wrote and sent a letter to O2. It received by O2 on 29th March according to dhl letter tracking information. I have also returned the router on 31st March which was received by O2 on 5th April. Today I saw that O2 deducted the payment from my bank account for April. If O2 send me any letter to my old address I will not receive it and I am out of Germany. I have already mentioned these circumstances on my letter and requested to communicate with me via email. I haven’t received any email from O2 yet. In that case what should I do? Should I withdraw the sepa payment?

did you receive a confirmation for your cancellation? That you received a bill isn’t unusual as these are always issued retroactively, so now in April you’d have gotten the bill for March where the connection was up and running just normally. Or was there anything out of the ordinary on the bill itself?

I am mostly concern about the termination confirmation from O2. Its been 26 days since I have requested for the termination. One of the customer service agents told me that it will take 14 days to get the confirmation from O2. But I haven't received any emails yet.

so I checked what I can find about the cancellation and any confirmation. The contract is being cancelled on the 26th this month. A first letter was sent out at the end of March asking about moving the contract to the new address or ending it as soon as possible with charges for the remaining contract duration. As no reaction was made concerning the move of your DSL connection, now the contrac will be ended this month. A confirmation about this was sent out on the 17th this month, that should be reaching you soon.

I am out of Germany from 8th April till 9th May. I have requested O2 to send me email for any further communication. I don't understand why they didn't send me any email instead of letter. Who will receive and reply their letter if I am not there?

thanks for your respond. 
Sending letters for confirmation is a usual practice. Sometimes it is not possible to switch the contact channel, sorry for this.

Hello, I am back from my vacation and found two letters from O2. One is about router returning confirmation and another is about deactivating confirmation but with remaining bill. In that letter O2 mentioned that they offered me something else in other letter, but I haven’t received that letter. As the law of existing internet connection of the new address I cannot take my O2 contract to that new house. Then why should I pay for rest of the remaining contract duration to O2? Isn’t it kind of robbery?

the offer concerning moving the contract or being charged the rest of the duration was made in a letter send to you back at the end of march. As it is possible to activate your contract at the new address it is within our rights to insist on the contract being fulfilled, which is why after you did not accept the offer to move the contract we are now charging you the rest of the contract duration.
