Hi, Since years I have a DSL Classic M Flex, which gets a monthly 10€ Kombi-Vorteil discount.

I would like to change it to a My Home XL, but when I spoke to the hotline I was told the kombi-vorteil discount would not be applied.

However, if I log into my Mobilfunk account, I am offered the 34.99 for 12 months (after that: 44.99), minus a 10€ discount for Kombi-Vorteil, so when I go in the Kasse just to see how it looks, it indeed says 24.99 for 12 months, then 34.99.  Therefore I know I can have My Home XL, at this price, but I´m afraid that if I go on accepting that offer, I might end up with 2 DSL contracts

Could you help me upgrade, my existing contract?

Or is the solution to get it a a new contract, cancell the old one and have my telephone numbers moved into the new contract?

Thanks in advance   :)

this is what I´m being offered, when logged into my mobilfunk contract. It already gives me the Kombi-Vorteil in my existing DSL contract, so I would think it might be easy to just upgrade to XL, hopefully.  :)

@fburzaco you can made an upgrade from Classic M Flex to My Home XL here over an o2 Moderator.

1.) do you want Flex or 24 months contract?

2.) did you have a Super Vectoring router (Fritzbox 7530 or 7590 for example) You want to buy by yourself or want rent? I prefer for you to buy the router by yourself.

I don’t know why you can’t get offer a KV. An o2 moderator will show up in your Thread in 3-4 days. Best regards.

Hi Joe, thanks for answering. Yes it would be great if the upgrade can be done here over an O2 moderator!

1.) Sure, I’ld choose the 24 month contract if there is a benefit to it. *Someone please remind me what is the benefit? :)

(I was always choosing the 24m, I dont remember on which upgrqade I came up to have Flex).

2.) No, I don’t think my modem is multi-vectoring (I don’t even know what that means, hehe), I presently have the Fritzbox 7490. As soon as I know that the upgrade is greenlighted and on its way, I will buy one. Thanks for the advice.

I’ll do as you suggest and wait for said moderator to show up in the thread.. Thanks again and best Rrgards

Hi @fburzaco

Welcome back to our o2 Community.

It is possible to update your DSL to an o2 My home  XL.

But first things first: You have an additional mobile contract, located under a second billing account number.

I suggest we merge these two contracts together , then you will get one monthly bill and just one debiting from your bank account instead of two and you can manage both you your contracts with one login via o2online.

If thats okay for you we will take further action.

Best o2 Matze

Hi @o2_Matze !

Thank you for replying to my post and for the possiblity to the upgrade.

Concerning your suggestion, it’s very kind but I rather have two contracts.

(After so many years I’m used to it, and to be honest, I see them as totally different services even if they both imply communication and are given by  the same company. The DSL is a never changing price, where as my Mobil is variable, depending on my travels, long distance calls, etc, etc. If I ever had a severe problem at any point with one or the other, and they were merged, I would have to cancel both, or something like that. I feel better to have them compartmentalized, but thank you anyway for the proposal.

best regards, Fer

@fburzaco Alright, no problem i thought it would be easier for you to manage your contracts (you still could cancel them separately in case you have to or want to) .

So now to your wish for an upgrade:

At the moment your DSL Plan has no contract duration, so the max flexibility, you can cancel the contract with a notice period of 30 days to the end of month.

Do you want to change that? Or you do you like to flexibility? Then we could upgrade your DSL for free to the o2 My Home XL monthy cost of 44,99 Euro  with a 10 Euro discount

because of your second mobile contract. You will get the 10 Euro discount as long as you wont change you mobile plan, so you would have to play 34,99 Euro per month.

Import for you to know: You need a special Router (AVM Fritzbox which spupports super vectoring for ex the 7590 (premium modell) or the 7530 (low cost modell)

We could only offer you to rent the 7590 for 5,99 Euro per month or you could buy the router by yourself (amazon or mediamarkt for ex.) .

At this point I would like to briefly refer you to the product information sheets that are available on our portal here. Please note that only the standard prices are displayed without discounts. If thats all fine for you we could arrange everything.

Best Matze

@o2_Matze thank you theser are great news.

I’ve now read the product information sheets from the link you sent me.

Regarding duration, I don’t really need the Flex, I don’t think I’m leaving anytime soon, so  I would be happy if you please do change me to the 24 month package of the My_Home_XL.

After reading your message I will order the Fritzbox 7590 on Amazon, so it should be here by the time the upgrade takes place.

Should I do anything else?

Best Regards, Fer   :)

@fburzaco

Sounds perfect, we will arrange everything and you will get information (new passwords for your router and date for changing the technology) within the next few days via e-mail.

Best Regards Matze

@o2_Matze

Thanks a lot for you help. I´ve now received some e-mails with contract data and the state of the proces.

Best regards,  Fer

@fburzaco  You are welcome.

Brief Update: The Change of technology will take place next thursday on the 27th.

Best regards

Matze

@o2_Matze , I got now all the emails, and stuff.

But maybe you can help me understand the “Willkommen_bei_o2.pdf”, Gekünigte Option tabelle, where It looks like the KV is being deactivated.  I thought it remained… or am I missunderstanding the table?

Yes and yes ...and sorry for the confusion  :-)

The KV will be deactivated, because of the Tariff Change, after that we have to activate the KV manually

It would be to complicated to go in to detail (a lot of IT and database reasons), but i can assure you, the KV will remain after the whole procedere.

@fburzaco and the best thing. You know where you find @o2_Matze if something going wrong.. 🤓😁

@o2_Matze  Thanks man, I understand , different Vertrags, different bindings  .

Thanks man your DA BEST!

@Joe Doe   indeed, hes a great problem solver, although I’m sure he’ll be happy to see less of me, hehehe :)

Best regards to both , FER

Hi @fburzaco

Any Update for us after the change of technology?

My systems says your DSL Sync is fine

  Downstream Upstream
Max. Sync Rate (kbit/s) 262.054 47.871
Curr. Sync Rate (kbit/s) 262.054 46.719

But i recognised a lot of disconnects, can you confirm that?

Maybe @Joe Doe  and I have to go through some troubleshooting with you.

Regarding the “Kombivorteil” i created a case, my colleagues from billing department will active the benefit within the next five to seven days.

Best Matze

Hi @o2_Matze . thanks for the follow-up.

Yes, I got new technology and you are right on both accounts.

The Throughput on the Fritzbox7590 reads: ↓ 263,5 Mbit/s ↑ 46,7 Mbit/s.

However all the speedtests I’ve done with the O2 recommended https://breitbandmessung.de/  , show a download of only 80Mbits on average (However, the upload measures are very good, usually reading over 40Mbits) (also by Speedtest.net I get averages of Downoad-95Mbits, Upload > 40Mbits).

For that reason I disconected the Mopem a few times, hoping it would grab a cleaner connection. And later I reset the modem to Factory settings to see if starting fresh would somewhat fix some mistake I could have done at first. Sadly, no, the speed has never reached even 100Mbits.

(Ok, as I am writing this, at speedtest jI just got a down = 111.51, the fastest ever, and Up = 42.98, as usual)

The modem and/or the connection have not disconnected by themselves or lost connection on their own that ‘m aware of, so in that aspect  it’s all working fine.

But any aid for reaching better download speed that you or the very knowledgeable @Joe Doe can provide, will be great! (I was already planing on asking you guys for help on Monday).

Also, @Joe Doe , thanks a lot for your video-tutorial on the 7590, install, & language change, it was very  helpful!  :)

Best regards,  Fer

@fburzaco  can you please try https://www.speedtest.net/de (Ookla) Did you make the speedtest over LAN Cable or wifi?

(WiFi i think)

Install the Speedtest App from Ookla to on your smartphone too. Verify that you are connected over 5 GHz WiFi. Than run the test there too.

Hi @Joe Doe , Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I do the tests over LAN cable. (I even installed a new Cat8 for this new setup)

I’ve just now done the sppedtest again (over Ookla,  as almost always)  and it is fluctuating. right now it’s:  Download >76Mbits / Upload >42Mbits

(but half an hour ago, I admit it once read: Down 152 / Up 43, so the possibility is indeed there, but I’ve opnly seen this one time)

On the phone, connected on 5GHz it reads:Dwn 91.83Mbps

This is an average read:

Thanks again

@fburzaco LAN: Your Notebook have a 1000 Mbit LAN Port? Your LAN Kabel is CAT.6 or 7 (1000MBit)? You have connect the cable to port 1 at the Fritzbox? This port is per default enabled for 1000Mbit. You can configure the speed from LAN Port 1 to 4 (5 is WAN) in the Fritzbox.

Wifi: Speedtest start nearby the Fritzbox? What smartphone you use? What is the connection Down/Up in the WiFi menu from the Fritzbox?

Overall: It can been happen that you have the wrong layer profil. Against this theory that you get one time 150 Mbit.  And one important thing. Don’t reconnect your Fritzbox 7590 to often. If to often, the DLM from DSLAM give you automatically a slower sync profile, because the DLM think you have line problems.

What is in the moment your sync? Please post a picture from Internet/DSL Information and than the Tab DSL incl. the DTU error counts.

Hi @Joe Doe , thanks.

Yes, my Laptop’s LAN port is 1000Mbit.  My cable is a Cat.8, so up to 40000Mbit. The Lan cable is conected to Port 1 of the Fritzbox. and Port 1 of the fritzbox is configured to 1 Gbit/s.  (I have no clue what Annex is, it reads “Annex B”, whatever that means. )

Wifi speedtest is done from 50 centimeters distance to the Fritzbox. I use a SamsungNote.

The Wifi Down/Up changes from thing to thing. All are on stand-by mode except the 2 phones:

AppleTV  -  5 GHz    ↓585  ↑585,

Chromecast - 5 GHz   ↓325  ↑325

NintendoS - 5 GHz      ↓144  ↑173

Samsung Note - 5 GHz    ↓433  ↑86

Huawei Phone - 2,4 GHz   ↓65   ↑65

I have not disconnected or reconnected anymore since las Sunday.

In 2 tests right now Ookla read:  Ping 6/  ↓94.84  ↑43.71

and 2 minutes later it read: ping 7/  ↓134.43 / ↑43.86

@fburzaco You have a lot of DTU errors. 🤔 Did you use Powerline adapter in your room? (I don’t think so)
Did you have ac adapter from the Fritzbox alone at the connector or you use a multi connector box?

No Powerline anywhere. The Fritzbox is conected directly to the wall ac.

could it be my Laptop?

It’s quite old, very little RAM and it has been stuttering since I supdated some software. (I get a lot of CPU overload messages when if I open more than 3 programs… and tends to freeze for an instant when I open games). Could that be it, the computer stuttering during speed tests?! hmmm.    Maybe I should wait untill I get a new computer, to see speedtests? (soon)

@fburzaco Did you not crosschecked with your smartphone?Install the app there and test again please.

I can’t.

(the handy that can use 5gh has an old android and it doesnt accept the app… the other handy, with a newst  android system can accept the app, but it doesn’t  conect at 5Gh, only 2.4  :(    ) I will try with a friend’s smartphone then.
