When moving (FAQ link), I am only getting the option of restarting my contract (24 months) and not continuing the contract term. Is this because my 24 months of the contract have concluded and therefore this is the only option?

Hello @Internetuser007 ,

welcome to the community.

In the event of a move, the term is always recreated to 24 months. Do you want to keep your contract as it is and only carry out the move, or do you also want to change the tariff?

Best regards,
Maria

Hello Maria, I am currently in the process of doing the following:

  1. My partner who I lived with and was the primary owner of the contract is passing down her contract to me. I have filled out the form and am waiting for it to be processed (I am thinking this takes about 2 weeks?)
  2. I would like to move, i.e. change the address on the contract
  3. Change my tariff to L (via DSL) from XL

To do this, I was going to wait until the contract is in my name, and then assigning the move from the menu options. This is the step where I do not know how to change the tariff.

Thanks!

Hello @Internetuser007,

when the change of contract owner is complete, you can change the contract according to your wishes, e.g. move it to another adress or change the tariff. I would recommend that you arrange the move by calling our customer service, they can also keep the original term. In this case, the moving fee (EUR 49.99) will be charged.

You can either order a tariff change at the same time or later by telephone or from us here in the community. In the case of landline connections, a tariff change cannot be requested online.

Please find our English-speaking customer support here: Contact.

If you have any further questions please let us know.

Best regards

Giulia

Thank you for your response. One more question: once I carry out the move and tariff change I will for L I will get it for 29.99 euros and then 34.99 the 13th month and beyond, correct?

Hello @Internetuser007,

these are the conditions for new customers only. The normal price for o2 My Home L is EUR 39,99. If you decide to extend your contract by 24 months, we will be happy to make you an offer with discounts. Just let us know when the contract change and the move have taken place.

Best regards

Giulia

Hi. Okay I am a little confused. Earlier in this thread I was told if I move then the contract is restarted, so technically I am renewing, correct? When I look at the tariffs page, I see that as a o2 customer Home L will be 29.99 and then go upto 34.99.

If the prices are all the same, I should rather just tell my partner to cancel the contract and get a fresh contract right? That way I will get home L with a discounted rate for 12 months. Consider that for the change of contract I will be paying 34.99 for the transfer of contract and then another 50 for the move.

If you could give me a discounted offer if I transfer the contract and move please let me know. And advice is welcome about the best way of navigating the circumstances. Thanks

Hello @Internetuser007,

the “Kombivorteil” discount for existing customers applies only if you are a customer with a mobile contract already. Is this the case, you can have an additional 5,00 EUR discount on your DSL contract.

The new customer conditions (12 x 10 EUR) are only available for new connections, they do not apply to a change of contract owner, as this is not regarded as a new contract.

If you want to benefit from the new customer offer, it makes sense to have the old contract terminated and sign a new contract.

Best regards

Giulia
