I just have started using the homespot from yesterday. It was finely working after inserting the SIM card. However from this morning the red light is blinking next to the LTE. Please could you help me to sort this out?

Hi,

Bought an O2 homespot and it arrived today.

I activated the SIM online through O2 portal and inserted into the device and the 4G/5G light always blinking red and I can't connect to internet.

I tried the sim in phone and it works fine.

I tried to get it checked through chat support and they asked me a dozen questions and then told me that someone will call to look into it.

I don't speak German and my contact options are limited.

Need help please

Hey @Kunalbihar,

Sometimes it takes a bit of waiting for the activation to go through. What is the current situation?

Greetings,
Flo

It's working now.

But the speed is really very slow. Sometimes I get 1 or 2 Mbps and on an average around 5 Mbps.

Checked the live network status in my area and everything looks good.

But I still get very low speeds. Upload speed is greater than download speed.

I think it's not reasonable to pay for 100 Mbps and get only 5 Mbps speeds.

I will wait for a few days more and then decide if I want to continue with O2

Thank you.

Hey @Kunalbihar,

Please remember that a revocation is only possible within 14 days. Could you give me a zip code and a street near you? Then I look at your area!

Greetings,
Flo

This Internet speed is not helping at all, after multiple concerns raised already.

Hey @Kunalbihar

Currently, I do not see any interference at your address. However, there are a few stations in the vicinity that are overloaded. This may be the reason for the rather mediocre result. Could you try to let the device search only for the 4G network in the settings?

Greetings,
Flo

Hello,

I was using the settings that you mentioned above in the screenshot and still got 1 or 2 Mbps or a little more .

Spoke to your customer service a dozen times and some of them said that there's no issue and others said that it will take some time to resolve issues.

Finally, they blocked my home spot altogether cuz I had high usage on a test karte that I got from O2.

So I paid the test karte dues yesterday at O2 store and till now my services are not resumed.

Earlier I had performance issue and now I have no internet for the last 5 days 😡

How come O2 block my home spot because there was a due on the mobile test karte ?

And that too without any prior intimation? I was shocked to see that all of sudden my services were blocked with no intimation whatsoever.

I read somewhere that it is against law.

But I guess O2 is ok violating laws of the land.

Then today I called the below number to unblock my account post making the payment yesterday

+4991147875028

But despite day long trying to connect to them I couldn't get anybody online to listen to me.

Finally, spoke to a lady and she told me that she can't speak English.

Despite my requests and urgency she didn't help me.

I filed for contract cancellation on 27th July 23 and they didn't cancel the contract nor did they call me to discuss it.

I guess they didn't reply cuz they are waiting for the 14 days to expire after which contract cancellation is a pain anyways.

It's been a month that I am stuck with O2 and nobody cares about my issues.

Haven't experienced anything like this in my entire life.

I hope my long ordeal with O2 doesn't stress you out because me and my family are stressed out so badly.

Thanks & regards,

Hello @Kunalbihar,

I have checked the above address again and could no longer detect any network problems there. Are you still having problems? Please also take a look at our live check. There you can report mobile network problems directly via the feedback button.

Regarding your payment matters: have you been able to clarify in the meantime and has your SIM card has been activated again?

Best regards

Giulia

Hello @Kunalbihar

I wanted to ask again whether your concerns could be resolved. If you still need support, please let us know.

Hello! Turned off the sim lock (PIN) and worked. Solved.

Face same problem today

Just one question for O2. Why there is no info about removing PIN in your instruction for router?

Hello @Chemchem

welcome to our community 🙂

Great that you have found the solution for you here. Which homespot are you using?

The instructions should actually be in the manual:

“If you want your HomeSpot to register automatically in the mobile network after a restart, you can deactivate the SIM PIN under “Menu > LTE/3G mode > Connectivity > Mobile settings > PIN settings: PIN status".”

Kind regards

Kathi
