Dear Sir/Madam,

A couple of days ago, I tried to extend my current DSL landline contract and upgrade to a better DSL speed connection. I run the whole process through O2 call center service and to my completely disappointment and surprise, one of your colleagues activated a whole new second DSL contract and did not upgrade my existing o2 DSL plan. The whole procedure was totally frustrating and after many telephone attempts with different O2 service agents, it was finally required from my side to send a scanned document form to cancel the second DSL contract as I was receiving automatic O2 text messages that there was a problem with my upgrade contract request. I ended up having two DSL contracts at the same home address for no reason. I lost many hours of my personal time trying to resolve what exactly happened and at the end my initial request for my landline contract extension and upgrade to a better DSL speed was never completed.

Therefore and for the above stated reason, I am reaching you through community to discuss my contract extension options and if it is possible to receive a good price offer by e-mail for O2 Home M with 100 mbit/s DSL speed. My current landline plan is O2 DSL Classic S with 50 mbit/s. I have already checked DSL availability in my region and it seems ok to upgrade to O2 Home M with 100 mbit/s.

I have also noticed the following DSL promotion and that was the initial reason that I called to ask for a better contract as I am an O2 customer for many years (since 2018). Could it be possible to upgrade to O2 Home M with the same contract price of my existing plan?

I am looking forward to your actions and to receive a good offer for my current O2 DSL landline contract.

Thank you very much in advance for your prompt response and understanding.

Kind regards,

  1. Gkourani

With in the first 14days you could send a widerruf to widerruf@cc.o2online.de To cancel the new contract.

Than wait for a O2 Admin to change your existing contract.

The old contract is older than 24 Months? If not you can’t change the contract!

Dear schluej,

Thank you for your help. They already informed me about the widerruf by email and that exactly I made to cancel the second new contract. However, I didn’t request in O2 telephone service to create a new O2 DSL contract. I asked how can I extend and upgrade my existing current plan. And yes my current DSL contract is much older than 24 months.

Kind regards,

  1. Gkourani

Hello @Matgkou,

welcome to our o2 Community 😀

We would of course be happy to make you an offer to extend the contract for your DSL connection.

Please note that creating an offer via email here via the community can take a few days.

Best regards

Giulia

Hello @Matgkou 🙂,

I have sent you the offer to extend your contract for the o2 Home M with 100 Mbit/s. If you accept the offer, we can merge your DSL contract with your mobile contract. As a result, everything will appear on one bill and you will receive a combined benefit of €5 per month on the o2 Home M 100, as described in the offer. Should I combine mobile and DSL for you?

With the new line, it is necessary to replace the old router. The offer therefore includes the FritzBox 7530AX. You must return the old router to us: https://router-retoure.o2online.de/start/app/returnsorder
The offer is valid for 8 days, so you have enough time to check it thoroughly. If you want a different tariff or want to make adjustments, we will be happy to discuss possible changes.

In accordance with the Transparency Regulation, I would also like to draw your attention to our "Product Information Sheet", where you can read all the product details (excluding discounts).

Best regards, Maren 💙

Hello @o2_Maren

I just checked your DSL upgrade offer and I have some questions as it seems a bit expensive. What about the following O2 action for 50 MBit/s DSL existing contracts? My current DSL Classic S plan is 25 EUR per month with 50 Mbit/s.

https://hilfe.o2online.de/o2%2Dnews%2D3/upgrade%2Dauf%2Do2%2Dhome%2Dm%2Dmit%2D100%2Dmbit%2Ds%2Ddoppelte%2Dgeschwindigkeit%2Dzum%2Dgleichen%2Dpreis%2D631187

In addition, if I choose O2 Home M DSL as a new contract for O2 customer, price is 30 EUR per month for the first year and 35 EUR per month for the second one. This offer is only for new contracts and not extensions? On the other hand, what about the above promo offer “Upgrade auf O₂ Home M mit 100 MBit/s - doppelte Geschwindigkeit zum gleichen Preis”?

What is more, my current router is a HomeBox 6641 and they already informed me that it can support 100 Mbit speed with O2 Home M contract. Could you please also check and validate that I can keep my current HomeBox 6641 router and not upgrade to a Fritzbox one?

As a loyal O2 customer for many years (since 2018), I would like to receive a better price offer for a 24-months O2 Home M extension contract.

Thank you in advance for your actions. I remain at your disposal.

Kind regards,

  1. Gkourani

Hello @Matgkou 🙂,

As an existing customer, I have offered you the maximum possible discount – unfortunately, that is all we can do. To offer the O2 Home M with 100 Mbit/s download and 40 Mbit/s upload at the same price, we need to check if it is fully feasible. In your case, it is nearly possible. Without discounts, the price for the O2 Home is €39.99.

Your current router does not support VDSL-BSA. Therefore, a router change is necessary. The AVM FRITZ!BOX 7530AX costs €2.99 per month and provides you with a powerful and secure router, which should not be compromised on.

Ultimately, the decision is yours whether you want a faster line with a new, good router, which would also improve the WLAN in your home, or if everything should stay the same. If you are considering an extension, please let me know so I can add the DSL contract to the mobile contract.

Best regards, Maren 💙

Your current router does not support VDSL-BSA.

Of course, the o2 Homebox 6641 supports VDSL-BSA. I don't know why such fairy tales are being told here again and again.

Dear @o2_Maren,

I can not understand why O2 customer service operate in such a terrible way or if you are trying cheating final customers with over expensive contract offers especially in DSL landline, as in the other hand, for my O2 mobile contract your colleagues offered me right away a cheaper price contract with same benefits. I would like from your side to properly confirm with technical department and if it is possible please attach the answer from technical department if current HomeBox 6641 router can support O2 Home M with 100 Mbit/s download and 40 Mbit/s upload. I would only accept to receive an offer of 30 EUR per month for the O2 Home M contract extension.

Otherwise, I will examine to terminate my DSL contract with O2.

@blablup  Thank you very much for your answer and clarification.

Kind regards,

  1. Gkourani

The new router is not necessary, but if you are otherwise not happy with the offer you will need to consider switching provider.

if current HomeBox 6641 router can support O2 Home M with 100 Mbit/s download and 40 Mbit/s upload.

I use an o2 Homebox 6641 with a 100/40 Mbit/s tariff and a VDSL Telekom-BSA connection. In a speedtest via LAN cable it shows about 95 Mbit/s downstream and about 37 Mbit/s upstream. So if Telekom is your local line provider, the o2 Homebox 6641 will work.
In addition, the o2 Homebox 6641 was also previously offered explicitly by o2 for the 100 Mbit/s VDSL Telekom-BSA connections.

Apart from that, the AVM Fritzbox 7530AX is certainly the much more modern device and the user experience when using WLAN can be expected to be better than with the o2 Homebox 6641.

Hello @Matgkou 🙂
It's a shame that you are not satisfied with Maren's offer 🤔

Unfortunately, our system for contract extension offers does not allow an extension with the WLAN HomeBox 2 ISDN, which is why we offered you the AVM FRITZ!BOX 7530AX as an alternative for just €2.99 a month.

You have currently received the best possible offer that we can provide you.

Do you want to leave everything as it currently is?

Best regards, Kathi

Dear @o2_Kathi,

Thank you very much for your response and the clarification about DSL router. I will leave everything as it currently is.

Kind regards,

  1. Gkourani
