Hi,
My current flat has an o2 cable connection to my roommate’s name. As she is leaving the country, she will soon cancel the contract (as soon as she has the abmeldung), and I want to get my own contract.
I don’t want to keep cable because it honestly works terrible, it may be something in the building’s wiring but it’s super unstable for gaming during peak hours like at night. It’s one of those things you only notice if you need real stability, but for watching tv or download things it works fine.
So, I wanted to get DSL under my name, ideally without minimal contract, I saw the option online for my address to get myHome XS Flex 16mb, but I also saw this which confused me saying I’m eligible for up to 50mb in this address.
This really confused me as I could not select DSL 50mb anywhere, only cable or LTE, but I know for a fact that the tenants in this flat who left 2 years ago had 50mb from o2 in DSL, and I’m not sure why i’m not being offered this when I try online.
So I decided to call the English hotline to clarify this, and I ended up more confused as this person assured me DSL was NOT available in my address in any manner, only cable or LTE.
Can someone help me figure out if 50mb are available in this address? if that is the case, how can I get it?
Also, if not possible and I want to go for the 16mb, I understand that if I order it online I have 14 days to return, correct?
Is there going to be an issue if there is an existing cable connection going for a couple of more months to my rommate’s name while I have my own DSL connection? Should they work fine together? (I assume so since they are different wiring, but wanted to confirm).
Are there plans not including phone? I honestly don’t need it.
In any case, I will be opting without minimum contract.
Best regards,
Tomas.
