My internet connection constantly drops randomly for few minutes several times a day

My internet connection constantly drops randomly for a few minutes several times a day.

My router is a Homebox 6641. Would it be possible to send a technician for check up please?

Thank you,

Hello @Selma3333,

welcome to our o2 Community 😀

I'm sorry that you are having problems with your internet connection.

Do the problems occur with a WiFi connection or when you connect your PC or laptop to the router using a LAN cable?

Please take a look and see if our o2 My Service App can help you. The app language can be changed to English as well.

Best regards

Giulia

Hello Giulia, the problems occur with a WiFi connection and I see the lights blinking on the router so I assume it would be the same using a LAN cable. Is it possible to send a technician for control please?

I see the lights blinking on the router

Flashing WLAN LED and flashing Internet LED indicate data traffic. This would therefore be a normal condition and not a sign of a fault. See short manual
It would be interesting to know the status of the DSL LED - is it permanently green or is it flashing?

The DSL LED is flashing green.

This means that the DSL connection has been interrupted. Please report the issue to o2 customer service when you are at the router.

But it does it several times each day. Is it possible to send a technician for inspection please?

I understood that. That's why I said that you should report this to the o2 customer service. They will carry out a diagnosis and decide on the next steps to resolve the fault. If a technician visit is necessary due to the fault analysis, they will also arrange this. If you do not report a fault, the fault will not be analysed and no measures will be taken to resolve the fault. If you prefer to do nothing, nothing will happen. It's in your hands.

Many faults can be solved without a visit from a technician. Nobody will send a technician to you just because you write a post here in the forum.

Hello @Selma3333,

If the DSL LED flashes, we must indeed assume that there is a malfunction, thank you, @blablup for the quick help.

You can also contact our English-speaking hotline directly: 089 66 66 30 08 1 (Mon. - Fri. 8 am - 8 pm, Sat. 10 am - 6 pm, on workdays).

They will check the connection together with you and send a technician if neccessary. Please call them from your cell phone when you are at home and can restart the router if necessary

If you have any further questions please let us know.

Best regards

Giulia
