Hallo,

I am using WLAN router - Homebox 6741

and connecting my PC with WIFI.

I am getting .6Mbps Upload speed at any time.

Would appreciate if this can be improved somehow.

@qwqwqw what tariff you have? Looks you have only a ADSL line. Was all the Time the speed so low?

I have 25Mbps Download and 5Mbps upload plan active since  more than 2 years.

Now a days it is hard to work from home due to slowness.

Where can I see about ADSL?

On login to “My O2” I see on top as below

O2 DSL S

089 - 3xxxx

Can you please check if it can be improved from your end?

@qwqwqw first I am a customer like you. You tariff is 10 Mbit down and 2.4 Mbit up for the first 100 Gigabyte. Than you get in the bill period a slow down to 2Mbit in down and upload. Or you have a DSL S Plus? This tariff have 25/5 for the first 300 Gigabyte traffic.

I only can say something to your line quality, if you use a Fritzbox. The o2 homebox is a little black box for normal customer and only an o2 technical employe can see something at his console.

What you can do. Disconnect the router from power and the dsl cable from the TAE box connector for 15 minutes. Than reconnect.

Better now?. (Only Little Chance for it)

If not, make a technical ticket over the o2 dsl help app. Post here for any question. Best regards.

Hello @qwqwqw,

I am sorry to hear that your DSL connection does not provide the bandwith it should. I recommend the following: Please install the o2 DSL Hilfe App on your smartphone and run some troubleshots with this app.

If the app can not help at all, it probably will lead you to our technical DSL department that you can reach via phone. Since we can not promise that you will reach an english speaking agent I recommend to call with a friend of yours who does so if you don’t speak any german at all.

Regards,

Lars

Hi o2_lars

The O2 app helped a bit - I could access the router portal and change the channel to channel 11. But still the speed was slow. Then I decided to take matters in my hand.

I have 2 more physical connection points in my house, I tried on another port and speed improved.

That gave me a hint that may be the original port is not connected to right set of wires. So I opened the socket and there were 4 wires out of only 2 were connected.

Then I changed the wires and connected again. this time speed was super.

So in nutshell - I would suggest that when you provide connection to a new customer, you need to make sure that:

All ports in his house are having good connection.

Get a feedback of connection speed after 1 month.

by doing that you ensure good service and secure love from customers.

For now please close the thread.

Hello @qwqwqw,

thank you for your feedback, I am glad to see that your connection is no working as expected :-)

It is possible that there are several TAE plugs in a house or a bigger flat. If a technician comes to connect your DSL it is possible that he or she will have a look at the wirings. Since the wirings in a house or a flat belong to the owner of the house we do not have the possibility to check every TAE plug, the typical solution of a technician will be to just make sure that the first TAE is connect3ed and will recieve a proper sync.

As soon as we recieve the confirmation that the connection has been established you should recieve information from us. In one of mails there will be e link to a broadband test so you can check the speed of your DSL connection immediately.

Regards,

Lars
