Hello,

At the beginning of March I will be moving to a new apartment. Yet, I will keep my old apartment for the entire month of March and will be working in both places.

Can you tell me the best way to ensure I have DSL in both places for the month of March? Due to corona, strong internet is more important than ever.

Should I:

  1. Get a new contract for the new place and just cancel my old contract for the end of March for the old place (I am on a Flex contract so this is possible).
  2. Have some sort of “overlapping month” charged for 2 contracts?
  3. Get some sort of wifi stick for March for the new place and arrange to transfer my old contract at the end of March?

Please advise on best way, thanks.

Best

Do we have any ideas for this?

Any answers for this?

Hi @CoffeLover

welcome back to our community. :relaxed:

The best way to solve this matter is to order a new flex contract in your new appartment and cancel the old one with a 30 days notice.

But please be aware of the landline number you have in your current contract. If you are in need of it you can’t get it later on the new contract. That might be the only problem.

As we no longer offer any surfstick contracts (just My Home with different kind of technologies) it does not matter if you choose the mobile router or the broadband.

There is no solution for splitting the existing contract for a month. If you order a move with a fixed date we will immediately cancel the contract in your old appartment as soon as the activation in your new address is done.

If you have any futher questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us again.

Greetings

Thanks for your response. Can I set up a new contract directly with you? It is not clear to me how to start a 2nd contract on Mein O2 while ensuring that the mailed documents come to my old address. I dont care about the landline number.

Date of Activation of Contract: March 2nd

Address: (To be provided by private message)

Type: O2 DSL L Flex

Router Needed: No, I will buy my own router

Hello @CoffeLover,

if a new DSL contract is needed within a short period of time I strongly recommend to either contact our DSL customer service via phonem WhatsApp or chat so that any question can be solved immediatly. You can also order a new DSL connection via our online portal

Unfortunately we do not have the possibility to look at a thread within a short period of time so it may be several days until we have the chance to look into a thread again. For such cases I recommend some other possible ways of contact in realtime.

Regards,

Lars
