Moving abroad

Dear Madam/Sir,

I am moving abroad and want to cancel my broadband internet. I have read the information provided online, but I have two questions:

-I will get my deregistration certificate 1, 5 months after I have moved abroad. Can I instead provide you with the confirmation email from the landlord? Alternatively, can you provide another solution, please?
- I am moving in with my parents and so don’t have a landlord or new employer. Can I instead provide you with my registration to the health care system?

Thank you very much in advance.

Kind regards,

Stratis

@An99 Please sent the cancelation documents to

Telefonica o2

Kundenbetreuung /Auslandskündigung

90345 Nürnberg

Alternatively, you can fax the whole thing to 01805571766.

For your router, we have an online return portal, so you can create a return label to send the device back to us (for free shipping)

Best regards Matze

Early termination requires the deregistration certificate as that is the only official proof that you are no longer ordinarily resident in Germany. You can get this up to 7 days before you move.

For proof of residency abroad a document from the healthcare provider should be sufficient as long as it is recent and gas your address on it.

Thank you very much!

Do all the documents need to be send together with the rooter? Its just I will receive the deregistration only after I leave Germany.

Also can I possible pass on my internet contract to someone else, even if they live in another flat?

Many thanks for your support.

Hi @An99

Welcome to our o2 Community.

Please do not send the documents together with your router, this will not work.

The logistics department also has a different address than the customer service department and forwarding the customer documents is not possible there.

Please send all documents regarding the cancellation due to your move abroad to the customer service. The colleagues will then inform you by e-mail if further documents are required.

Kind regards Matze

Hello @An99 ,

are you still living at your old address? You should generally get a response to your termination request by mail. Is the contract still being shown as active when you access mein o2 ?

Kind regards, Sven

Hello Sven,

Thank you for the reply. I moved abroad. About the contract, it says:

Es gibt leider Probleme mit Ihren Kundendaten.

Wir versuchen das Problem so schnell wie möglich zu beheben.

Yet, the monthly fee came out of my account last month.

Can you please advice how to proceed?

Thank you.

Hello @An99 ,

I’ve checked and your contract hast been deactivated. Bills are always paid retroactively, so in February you paid for January. The current bill of 12,85€ will be the last one.

Kind regards, Sven
