Hello,

I want to terminate my contract because I have moved to a new apartment and my new owner already has a o2 contract. Please help me how to do this?

Thanks,

Shweta

Edit o2_Larissa: moved to English o2 Community: Broadband / DSL

Are you talking about a DSL contract? You have posted in the mobile forum.

Assuming that you meant to post in the DSL forum, if you move you need to request that your connection is moved to the new address. If this is not possible (technically more than DSL line can be connected at the same address) you will be able to terminate the contract early by paying justa three month penalty.

Hello @shwetavalunj,

if you did notsign for a contract with a flexible runtime and a monthly cancelation period your contract can be ended after 24 months of its initial runtiime or after 12 monaths after the initial runtime was reached. I recommend to apply for moving your DSL connection as @bs0 already suggested. If the new address is in an area where we are not able to provide our service at all the contract can be terminated within a grace period of three months.

Regards,

Lars

Hello @o2_Lars  My new apartment already has a o2 connection and it is with my owners name. So that is why I want to terminate the contract. Thank you.

That is not a reason to be entitled to terminate the contract early. You need to apply to transfer the connection to your new address and wait for a reply from o2 as to whether this is technically possible or not. If it is not you will be able to terminate the contract early as stated above.

how do I contact o2? There is no email address.

You can request the transfer in the app or the customer portal. Or by telephone to customer services.

Hello @shwetavalunj,

did you already follow @bs0’s suggestion and got in touch with our customer serviceß I hope any open question could be answered :-)

regards,

Lars

Hello @o2_Lars ,

I have sent a termination letter to o2 customer service by post because there no option of doing it via phone or email. I had tried calling but it was mentioned to me to send a letter on call.

Thanks,

Shweta

Hi @shwetavalunj

well, a termination letter will only confirm the date to the end of your normal duration.

As @bs0 and @o2_Lars already mentioned, please order a move to your new appartment. You can do this here: Internet- & Festnetz-Umzug (Move of Internet & Landline)

Just click on the button: DSL Umzug beauftragen

Loving greetings,

Tobias

Hello @o2_Tobias

I have moved to new apartment and I am not using the o2 connection of old apartment since my new apartment already has an o2 connection with my owners name. That is the reason why I want to terminate the one with my name.

Thanks,

Shweta

Hi @shwetavalunj

yes, I understand that you do not like to move your o2 DSL-contract to your new address.

Bute note what @o2_Lars suggested to you:

“If the new address is in an area where we are not able to provide our service at all the contract can be terminated within a grace period of three months.”

So, if you order the move it might be that you come out of the contract within 3 months.

If the move is technically possible you can still send us a cancelation because of moving to another adress.

I hope you got the point.

Loving greetings,

Tobias
