I cannot login to myO2 after I took over DSL contract (übernehmen)

I took over the DSL contract from a friend. I get mail telling me to “confirm” my email address (Bestätigen Sie bitte Ihre E-Mail-Adresse.)

Which credentials am I even supposed to log on with?

Do I have to register to myO2 separately? How do I even do that?
