I’ve just set up my Homespot 5G internet, which promises speeds up to 100mbps. In reality, these are the speeds I’m getting:

The latency is so high and upload bandwidth so low that it’s impossible to make online calls (even without video), and the whole service is practically useless. I’ve had to revert to hot-spotting off my phone with a far cheaper Aldi-talk sim, which gives me much better speeds.

Since Aldi Talk also uses the Telefónica mobile network, the positioning of the o2 Homespot is probably unsuitable. Position your o2 Homespot towards the nearest base station.

Hello @tluth ,

welcome to the o2 Community 💙.

The internet speed avaiable with a mobile connection is always going to depend on several factors. If you are getting good performance with an Aldi-Talk card which also uses our net infrastructure, then this is probably not the issue and as blablup already suggested, maybe the placement of the HomeSpot router could be optimized. From what I can see most of the coverage at your address happens from two stations which respectively are located towards the northeast and southeast from you. If possible please try and adjusts the router towards one of those directions.

Kind regards, Sven
