Hey there,

quick question regarding the DSL router I got with my contract. I’ve requested the cancelation of my contract since I’m moving out of my place and just now realized I was paying for a renting fee. I know this is kind of usual practice but I was pretty sure I was paying for a router which I would own after some time in this case (specially considering the 50 euros initial rent value).

Anyways, my lost. However, I’ve ordered a FritzBox 7590 and I’ve grown quite fond of it. It’s an excelent router, and since I’m moving to my girlfriend and she lacks a proper one I thought of keeping that for myself.

I can’t seem to find anywhere how much I’d pay if I decided to keep it though. Would the amount I’ve paid so far be deducted from the full price at least? What even is the full price considered by o2?

Thanks in advance.

Best,

Tito

The router is a loan device and is not sold by o2.
If you like the Fritzbox 7590, you can buy it yourself in electronics stores.

How I love german sympathy.

Let me re-phrase so maybe this time you actually answer my question, how much is the penalty fine if I don't return it on time?

The calculation of the compensation is based on the recommended sales price with a depreciation over a period of 5 years. The provision price will not be reimbursed or offset against the compensation.

Please note that the calculation of the compensation does not result in a sales contract and therefore neither a warranty claim against o2 nor a guarantee claim against AVM exists. Ownership of the device cannot be acquired.

I see, that’s perfectly fine. Thanks for the clarification :)
