Hello,

Before I moved into this flat in January 2022, the previous tenants had an o2 connection by DSL at 50mb rate.

Today I was hoping to get a second connection for my home using DSL, since I already have a cable connection but it’s very unstable during peak hours (I made several threads about this, don’t want to get into it again, speed is fine but latency spikes constantly). I already resigned myself to having to pay for a second connection, but when I validated my address in the o2 offerings page, it says I can only get Cable.

Is it possible that a DSL option was available in the building before but it’s not anymore? Or is it possible that the address validation in o2 website is not correctly showing all possible options?

I’m not sure if I can give my address in here.

Thanks!

Hello @TabLmm ,

at your current address only ADSL is avaiable. The previous tenant might have had a contract that went up to 50 MBit/s but was also only running on ADSL. As that is a far more likely thing then VDSL being removed for a given area.

Kind regards, Sven

Thanks Sven,

I tried searching for ADSL for new customers or existing customers but I couldn’t find it.

I did find some available DSL connection at my address but it’s listed for “Selbstständige” only, which I’m not (I’m employed).

Does this mean I cannot get an ADSL connection without being self-employeed?

Is the answer is that I can, are there contracts offered without minimum term?

Best regards.

Hello @TabLmm,

the smallest contract my Home XS which only gets offered for places where the avaiability is very limited is not openly promoted. You can get this as a normal two year or monthly contract, but you’ll have to contact the hotline or chat to book the contract for you.

Best regards, Sven
