I am a student living in Kiel Studentenwerk Dormitory. I have been using o2 DSL connection since June 2019. At the start of 2020 my local Studentenwerk organization decided to provide us with a new internet connection, which will cut the connection of our private internet connections and will make it impossible for us to use our third party internet connection such as o2. Since March 2020 i have not been able to use my o2 internet connection because of this but i am still having to pay my fees monthly.

Is there a way i can cancel my contract? i am not very good at German, and i have been trying to search for any kind of way to cancel the contract, any email or mailing address, i can forward my request to, but so far no luck and now decided to just ask here .

Its a bit unfair, i want to continue using o2, but i am unable to do so because now Studentwerk dormintories have no socket to plug in a third party connection and i cant use it, but i still have to pay.

Please if someone can help me with this, it will be very much appreciated, as i have been paying alot for this since March when i havent used the internet even once.

I have checked your contract, it has a duration of two years and is running until March 2021. On May 11th you have informed us that you have moved to a new adress. However, you didn’t give us that new adress. Our cancellation department has sent you a letter on May 12th and asked you to give us the new adress so we can check whether o2 dsl is available there. If it is, an early cancellation is not possible. You should also send in a confimation of your landlord, that he doesn’t allow other providers but his own. This might help with an early cancellation, but I can not guarantee that it will work.

 

Please send in a copy of the registration form from the Einwohnermeldeamt to prove your new adress. Also if you have it, the a.m. confirmation of your landlord. Our cancellation department will then check if your contract can be cancelled earlier than the regular contract end.
