Hello,

I put a request for DSL with O2 about a month ago and the technician who was to come to activate the internet has missed two appointments already and does not show up at all. Now they are giving me the appointment on 10th of September again but I doubt he will show up this time too.

Therefore I wish to ask if there is anyway the internet could be activated without the technician having to come? As I have connected the router to the wall outlet and all the lights (WLAN, DSL and internet) are stable (I guess the DSL connection to my apartment already exists) . I have a homebox 6742 router.

The o2 myservice app created the following case number 900xxx.

Also, please let me know if I will be charged anything for this month that I did not have any internet so I can cancel the contract in a timely manner.

Last question that the telephone service guys are too rude, is there anyway I can register a formal complaint against the guy that speaks rudely?

Thanks!

Hello @Saim.rauf95 ,

welcome to our community! 🎉

If you have the previous tenant data a technician appointment can be avoided.

This data can be specified at the order entry, but in most cases a technician appointment is necessary.

The billing will start when your contract is activated. Before that, there will be no invoice.

I am very sorry if someone was rude to you.

I am optimistic that we can solve your issue without a formal complaint.

If you want to write us a complaint nevertheless, you can write us a letter for example.

This is the adress:

Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG
Kundenbetreuung
90345 Nürnberg

Best regards🌸

Manuela

@Saim.rauf95 Moin,

if dsl, internet is on. Please try to connect to the router home page.

Try to connect to o2.box or 192.168.1.1 search for the VoIP PIN in your welcome letter.

You have to enter the pin. Remember the password you get ask for! You will need it if you like to change the configuration (WLAN Name e.g.).

@schluej Moin! Thanks for the reply, I already did that and the on the homepage also it says internet connected, but yet somehow I am not able to access the internet.. I guess then the appointment of Techniker is necessary

@Saim.rauf95 if the homebox accepts the voip PIN than every thing is ok!

You can’t enter the VoIP PIn without a correct connection.

The router is rent from O2? Or buy from private?

If DSL is Blue on and Internet is blue on ant Telefon is blue on. You are ready to go.

What you could try is todo a factory default reset. On the back there is a red hole. Press the switch > 30 seconds to do the reset. After the reset you have todo the setup for the router a 2nd time.

Thanks @schluej for the instructions, the router is O2 homebox 6742, I will try this at home and then let you know.. Have a nice day!

Important: If you get the router from eBay or a private person. The router will not work!

The 6742 must be rent from O2 to work!

Hello @Saim.rauf95

how is it looking now? You already recieved some good tips from schluej as I can see :-)

If the router states that it is connected to the intenet you should also be able o reach it via a connected device. Do you recieve any error mesage in your browser? Is maybe a security software preventing the access to the internet? Maybe the IP settings were changed manually in the past?

Regards,

Lars

Moin @schluej@o2_Lars ! Thanks for reaching out again. Here is the complete picture, the router is from o2 and for my contract. The 3 lights for internet, WLAN and DSL are stable blue (not blinking or red).

I tried to hard reset the router but it again booted up, again showed that the DSL and internet connection is fine. Did not ask to enter the VOIP pin, also I tried to look for any setting where I could enter the Voip pin manually, but could not find it..

@o2_Lars Yes thats what is strange to me as well, in router homepage it shows everything is good but i tried with my cell phone and laptops and all of the devices do not get internet connectivity.. When I open a browser page it just keeps loading and nothing appears..

Hello @Saim.rauf95,

i suppose that your DSL line has not been activated yet. Have you received any new information on the activation in the meantime?

Sometimes we offer express activation if the line ID is known and submitted to us. In this case you are informed separately by email, letter or text message on the proceedings. If you haven’t received it, I am afraid you will have to wait until September 10th.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Best regards

Giulia
