Sorry that my german is not so good! I hope english is ok.



I sent in a letter to O2 asking to cancel my contract for February 29, 2016... but the letter was returned to me today. For some reason it did not arrive at O2.



So I am posting here: Could it be arranged that my contract will end on February 29, 2016. I am giving 3 months notice!



I will be leaving the country and moving to Canada.

Am I correct in saying that you wish to terminate your contract early? In this case you will need to pay 3 months from when you leave the country and you will need to provide o2 with confirmation that you have deregistered in Germany, i.e. are no longer resident here. Your termination letter shopuld make it clear that you are terminating for this reason. o2 will then tell you what documents they need.

Yes, that is the address I sent it to. Weird that it was returned to me. Maybe I did something wrong... is there a link to the cancellation forms that you ca provide?



Anyhow, I don't believe it's an early termination. (the contract has been active since 17.09.2010 ... I took over the contract a few years ago)

where I have now seemingly made a cancellation request for 29.02.2016

Will this be sufficient to have the contract end on that date?

OK, so your current contract term ends in February.



No, the "Vormerkung" is not sufficient, you need to phone the number shown to confirm your cancellation within 10 days, and this must be three months before the end of the contract term (by my calculation it is already too late, but if you phone today it might still be accepted).

Der offene Rechnungsbetrag wird am 29.02.2016 eingezogen. "

We always calculate the charges for the coming month. So you got an invoice now for March. It will then be credited in the final invoice.
