Have you already sent in your cancellation? In order for your contract to be terminated early, you must be de-registered from the registration office here in Germany. Of course, you can also hand it in later, but the termination with one month notice applies from the time you submit it.
Of course you can continue using your prepaid card abroad as well. Please check the roaming prices here. Please note: In the event of excessive use of data services abroad, surcharges will be charged in accordance with the EU Fair Use Policy. For more information, see the current price list.

Thank you very much for your response. As mentioned above, I left Germany by the end of December 2021 and accordingly, I sent my router on the given address.
Though, I did not used the O2 router services in the January 2022 still the regular charges were deducted from my German bank account, would you please let me know why it has been deducted and until when the deductions will be there?
Now, I am about to terminate my German bank account, thus, I would like to hear from you at its earliest.

did you already send the needed documents to cancel your contract prior to its nominal ending? As long as these documents are missing, a cancelation will only happen to the end of its runtime.
Just sending back a router does not end a contract.

I can also see the following message written after my O2 login

Your contract for the phone number +49(0)XXXXX - XXXXXX has been terminated. Do you want to reconsider, can we make you an individual offer or help you in some other way?
Doesn’t this mean that my contract cancellation has taken place, does it?
Or am I still supposed to send another document to the O2 for contract termination.

to cancel a contract to an earlier date we need the “Abmeldebestätigung” and some kind of “proof” that you moved to france. Maybe a copy of your rental contract, a copy of the univcersity you are studying, something like that. Without this information, the contract will be terminated to the end of its nominal 24 month runtime.

It has been almost a month and I have not heard any news from the O2 about my contract termination even after I sent my application to terminate the contract for the second time.
Moreover, again the monthly charges were deducted from my German Bank account.
I would like to mention again that I cancelled my contract from January 2022 and ahead of time I sent my contract termination application along with the router.
Since money were still being deducted from my account thus, I submitted my City deregistration document and French Doctoral school registration certificate along with contract termination document again in the month of February as per your suggestion.
May I know a concrete way to terminate my contract?
Is there any way to know why the monthly charges are still being deducted from my account.

your contract was already deactivated on March 15th, the confirmation was send to you by letter.
As we have received the copy of your deregistration on February 24th only, an earlier cancellation date was not possible.

Thank you very much for your answer. I have not received the confirmation about contract termination from O2 on my residential address yet. Is it possible for you to see in which place it has been send, I would request you to send it on my French address or on my registered email id. Either of them is fine with me.
Can I deactivate my German bank account since I was only waiting for O2 contract termination?
If I receive the confirmation then everything will be clear to me.

the letter of confirmation was sent to the contactaddress that had been set within your contract data. I’ve asked that it gets sent to the emailaddress once more.
I’d wait a little bit longer with deactivating your bank account as there is still one final bill that you should be receiving this month.

I do not really understand why the contract termination confirmation document was sent on the older address if I have already shifted to another country. In my application I also requested explicitly to send the confirmation on new address!
How would I know if my contract has been terminated if I do not have the written confirmation from O2?
If you are willing to send the letter of confirmation through email, then I would request you to send on the email address as I mentioned in the application letter and not only on the email address registered with your contract. Because that was my institute’s email address and I will no longer have access to it.
I also mentioned in the application that I am ready to transfer the sum of amount instead of waiting for direct debit, unfortunately, the amount and payment details has also not been send to me.

it was sent there because you had it listed as your contact address. And if the email listed under your contract is not the one that you can be reached under anymore, than please change it to one where you can be reached.
