Constant Disconnections with DSL

I keep having near constant disconnections with my DSL. I use an Ethernet cable, so it is even more puzzling. Each session, although all lights may be on the router, I will receive the message “Internet error/No connection”, often followed by “Changed routing”. Additionally, when I am connected, I have very slow upload and download times. I know to restart the router, etc. but I shouldn’t have to do this daily. And I cannot of course, if I am being disconnected 10 times in 1 hour.

I have the O2 Home XL package, and my speeds are no where near the promised 250mb download and 40mb upload. These days, it is around 40mbs download and 9.5mb upload…. or less. These problems have been occurring for the last three months.

I do not have a German friend nearby as is usually suggested on the forum, especially in this some of covid physical distancing. I did read through several similar questions on the forum, and I have tried to contact the O2 by phone. Previously, even when I tried to use my limited German skills, more than one representative just hung up in my face. This is especially disappointing and frustrating.

I would appreciate any help. As a filmmaker if a 2-5 minute trailer takes hours to upload, and I can barely use my computer otherwise.

Hay hay @dsrh2019,

i´m sorry for the disconnects =(

I have some questions:

  • Did you tried a power reset of the router?
  • Which router do you use?
  • What do the LEDs of the router, when you loose the connection?
  • On the mobile account from where do you send us this thread i found no DSL contract. Is it maybe an homespot your request is about?

Kind regards,

Larissa
