cancelling internet

I have been trying to confirm my internet cancellation for weeks and I have not heard anything from O2. I moved from the country and initially tried to switch a contract to a new tenant but there was no action from O2 and no response even when they sent me the correct document to fill out.  Since this didn’t work, I decided to mail my cancellation notice with my Deregisteration from the city and still have no knowledge of the status of my account. I am getting no answers online and no one in store is being helpful since the Individual who was going to take over my initial contract went into an O2 shop and they claim it can’t be done in shop without me now.
now I am looking for a firm answer on how I can even confirm how and when my internet can be canceled since I have taken every step they claim must be done to cancel it.

Hello @KAK89 ,

welcome to the o2 Community 💙.

I’ve just checked and the contract was ended last month, a confirmation was also send out. If you’ve already left the country the letter probably didn’t reach you. If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Kind regards, Sven

Thank you sven -was there no need to confirm my account number to ensure it has been cancelled?

Hello @KAK89 ,

you must have sent in all the information that was needed for the department to cancel the contract. If something had been missing, you would’ve been informed of this and the contract itself would still be running.

Kind regards, Sven

Hi Sven ,

i was referring to how you were able to confirm my account was cancelled if I didn’t provide my account number here (was it simply confirmed with my email?). I want to just be 100% certain it has been terminated.

Hello @KAK89 ,

yes your community account is linked to your contract. You’ll also still receive one final bill for the time until deactivation, you’ll also find the deactivation confirmed there.

Kind regards, Sven
