I have been trying to cancel my o2 contract for nearly 1 year now. Everytime I get to talk to through a customer care, they have different answer for everything.

I have sent so many requests via post, requesting for a termination and I have the confirmation from Deutsche post that o2 has received the post. But o2 customer care does not acknowledge it. They say that they have never received the termination request. Why is it so difficult to request for a termination.


I have sent an other request now. But still no response. Why is it difficult to get a cancellation confirmation.

It's a pity that you want to leave us and that it didn't work out with the cancellation. Did you cancel the first time by yourself or did you order the cancellation with a change of provider? When did you want to cancel and until when is the minimum contract period of your contract? You can find this on page 2 or the following on your bill or your contract documents.

    I tried cancelling like this

    - The first way was migration to Vodafone in 2020. But vodafone took a long time and maybe it was my mistake also. But o2 did not migrate it and hence o2 extended my contract for 1 more year till Feb 2022. 
    - I had to pay to o2 for an year even though I did not use the service.
    - I sent in a letter post with cancelation request in September 2021. When I inquired with customer care o2 mentioned that they received the cancellation request. But after 2 months when I contact customer care for the status, they mention that they never received any letter and they have overwritten my request with some other request from a different user. No idea what happened there. During these 2 months I have been trying to get any information for the cancellation. Everytime they mentioned that I will get the cancellation confirmation but no update.
    - Again I sent the cancellation request in November 2021, I contact the customer care again. This time they say they received the request and its in progress. But I have lost faith at this time now.

    All I need is a confirmation that the contract will be cancelled. I am so frustrated right now that I am actually thinking of suing o2.

I am sure this time everything will be fine.

i assume the whole cancellation process just needs a bit more time.
