Kündigung Ihrer Mobilfunknummer wegen Umzug ins Ausland

Hello, I lived in Germany and got my phone contract in August 2019, I left Germany in March 2020 and I have been living in Slovakia since then. How can I cancel my contract from Slovakia? I didn’t register any address in Germany and I didn’t have a job there, so I have no proof of living there (my boyfriend was a hockey player there and we only lived there for a few months) but I have a letter that says I have a permanent address here in Slovakia.

I would send a letter to the following address.

Please mention your o2 phone number, customer number (if at hand) and your current and former German address.

A few weeks after you have sent the letter I would come back here and reach out to the o2 team in order to make sure you cancellation has been received.

I assume you are not fluent in German so this is the most important part in German:

„Hiermit kündige ich meinen oben genannten Vertrag fristgerecht zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt.“

One more thing:

if you are on a 24 month contract and want to terminate it early due to moving abroad there is a slightly different way to go. 
let‘s wait for the o2 team to explain further in that case.
