English customer service on holidays

I am trying to contact the customer service in English, but the pre-recorded message states I am calling outside of business hours. This is incorrect because I am definitely calling during business hours. Are they closed because today is a holiday? Is there no customer service available on holidays?

    unfortunately, the service hotlines are not staffed on public holidays. You will only be able to reach them again tomorrow from 8 a.m. CET.

    Unfortunately it’s a contract issue, so only an employee can help me.
