WLAN / WiFi has nothing to do with o2.
When did you order the DSL connection?
10th October. I am expecting it on 30th October but I am deeply concerned I have not received my ‘next steps’ email or any further information as I cannot afford another month without WLAN.

I am sorry to hear that you did not recive further information yet. Where exactly did you order your contract? Was it in a shop or a website? Or was it directly on our website?
If you order a new contract you are often prompted to leave a contact number. Did you verify that the number you entered was valid?

i ordered online, and I did leave a contact number but it’s an English number (I only got my German number about a week ago) so I don’t know if that caused any problems. I would update my account with the German number so I can more easily be contacted, but I don’t have an account or a customer number to quote
