Basically no problem, provided the device is suitable for the German market. By the way, the model lacks telephony.
I had an ASUS router myself 5 years ago, but it was very lame.
@Klaus_VoIP , can you elaborate why you think the Asus router is lame? Which version did you have?
I want to give this one a whirl, it seems pretty good, but it’s good to hear other’s opinion. :)
The handling and router responses for connection-login and administration were terribly slow at the time. Can be better today, of course.
Understood @Klaus_VoIP , let’s see how they are today, it seems that they have an App now to help manage the device.
BTW: If I lost/forget my DSL credentials, is it possible to get via the customer support?
Do you really think that an APP will fix a router's problems? You only increase the number of possible bugs with such APP's.
Login data are in the mail with the order confirmation and in the customer portal.
Hello @VitorVillar ,
you are of course free to use a different router, as long as it works to the german standards I see no issue with that. From what I see though, is that you will be switching your connection soon from VDSL to cable, in which case the router of your choice wouldn’t be of any further use for you.
Kind regards, Sven
