Your student dorm room has a DSL connection and enables you to use your o2 contract? That would be very unusual!

No, no dsl connection here. That's what I said up there. I'm not much of a tech guy but I only have one direct lan port on my wall and that's not dsl right?
That is most likely a connection to your university's network. Did you not receive instructions how to access it? Have you tried connecting your computer directly?
By the way, the homebox almost certainly belongs to o2, so your friend should probably not have sold it to you. You can't use it in your dorm room anyway.
And the Homebox is intended for connecting the router for which it was rented.
Buy a 7520 from eBay should be below 60€ and is the most better router.
Hello @Nestor95 and welcome to our o2 community :-)
Having more than one device that needs a connection to the internet is absolutely normal nowadays. So if there is only one LAN connection available in the flat using a router is understandable.
Unfortunately our o2 Homebox is meant to be used with a DSL connection. You could try to connect the LAN outlet in your flat to the (blue) WAN port and try to enter all necessary login information that your university provided.
Since you don’t really need a device that includes a DSL Modem (except you are planning on leraving the dorm in the near future and rent a flat with DSL connections) you could also buy a cheap router (D-Likn, TP-Link, … ), the rpices ranges from under 20 to under 40 Euros, maybe that could also be an option for you?

Lars
