Hi there,

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic I have been forced to work from home as I’m sure many others are experiencing too. My DSL package has 100GB of Data included which I normally wouldn’t go near but due to having to download and upload large files for work (I’m a graphic Designer) and also being on my internet more often in the evenings since all events are cancelled I am scared I am going to use it all up. What happens when I hit 100GB? Do I have to pay more? I would actually love if I could upgrade for the next month or so, I don’t mind paying a bit more I just want to make sure I can watch some movies, skype call my family and colleagues and work from home feeling comfortable whilst we are reducing social interactions.

Thanks!

Hi @emmjay47,

welcome to our community.

There is a possibility to upgrade the o2 My Home S. The first one is DSL Upgrade 100 GB charged with 4,99 EUR once. The second option DSL Unlimited Pack charged with 14,99 EUR. Within this package you can use Internet full speed without any limits. The packages can be cancelled monthly. Check online at www.o2.de/meino2 for further information.

Greetings

Hi there @o2_Manga

Thanks for your reply. Where do I do this upgrade? I assumed it would be under “Tarif & Optionen” but there it only says “Derzeit sind keine Upgrade-Optionen verfügbar. Bitte versuchen Sie es zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt erneut.” This is only the first month of my contract but I really need the upgrade due to this unexpected home office.

Thanks,

Okay @emmjay47,

I can arrange this for you if there is a technical problem. Pls. tell me which option is desired.

Greetz

Hey @o2_Manga

I spoke with someone on the O2 Chat service and they said that new contracts don’t have a data limit and that my account doesn’t have a limit so the info on the dashboard is outdated.

Best,

If your tariff is o2 my Home S, your contract has a high-speed volume of 100 GB per month. If you exceed your volume, connection speed is limited to 2 Mbit/s. There was no change to this at any time . See product information sheet

Hey @blablup ,

Here was the conversation with the colleague on the online chat. I’m now very confused. I was asking them to do one of these upgrade packages for me as I have no option on my dashboard but this was the answer, that I didn’t need to.

Of course I can’t know the tariff you ordered - you have to check this by yourself.

Do you see any new tariff on the o2 website? No, there are no new tariffs. If you check the ordering website for o2 my Home S, you will see that it still mentions the speed being limited to 2 Mbit/s after 100 GB/month. So where is this mysterious new campaign and why are there no press releases about it?

But you can easily find it out by yourself whether the speed of your connection is limited once you exceeded the 100 GB.

Hi @o2_Manga

Is correct that there was no change to the tariff and that I was given wrong information from your colleague on the live chat in the screenshots above? You said you could help me to upgrade? When you say 100GB I assume this is on top of the 100GB I already have. I think this would be enough for me. I still have no option to do this directly on my account.

Best Regards

Hi @emmjay47,

unfortunately the colleague mixed um o2 My Home S and o2 Classic S when explainig the throttle after a certain usage of data. The o2 Classic S has no limitbI ut your tariff has.

Yes indeed, the 100 GB are on top of your data package. I am going to order it by now so you can use it in time.

Greetings

@o2_Manga

Okay Thank You. And just to double check, I can cancel this add on anytime? I think I will only need it for a month or two.

Thanks,

Right @emmjay47,

just send a note if the package is no longer required. I will cancel it. :-)

Greetz

@emmjay47 you can cancel the option four weeks to the end of a month.
