Hi,

I have recently ordered a new DSL connection. I have recently moved to Hannover, Germany and not fluent in German yet. So, I would like to request for English speaking technician when it is going to be installed. How do I make this request?

i don’t think this will work.

Normally there is a phone socked where you connect the Router.

If you took the HomeBox you only have to enter a number code to activate the connection.

That's not possible. If you have provided complete information about the previous tenant and the apartment, it is usually possible to provide the DSL connection without a technician visiting your living quarters.
The o2 order confirmation will tell you whether a visit by a technician is necessary and, if so, when this will take place. There is no particular need for discussion. Just give him access to APL and TAE, that's all. Due to the corona situation, the technician will certainly not be interested in small talk.

Prepare yourself well for the visit of the technician:
The connection address must be correct and complete. The name of the contract holder must be affixed to the doorbell and mailbox. The technician may give notice by telephone at the mobile phone number you gave when ordering. However, there is no guarantee for this. Please make sure that someone can open the door for the technician during the entire period of time specified.
If the APL of your house is in a locked room, you must ensure that the technician can enter this room. If necessary, get the keys for the room or have the room unlocked.
Allow the technician access to the first TAE box in your home. It must not be covered by furniture. 

Due to the corona situation, please observe the following additional instructions (from Deutsche Telekom website):

Please keep your distance: Our technicians will keep their distance from you. Please do the same.
Information in case of corona infection: Please inform the staff proactively if there are any cases of corona infection or sick people in the household. In such cases, please postpone the appointment.
Ventilate rooms and disinfect areas: Please ventilate the rooms regularly on the day of the appointment and disinfect the work area of our technicians beforehand.
