I would go for a bank statement or an official letter sent to you at that address recently. Neither are technically proof that you actually live there but you can’t send in what doesn’t exist! You could also ask your parents to sign a short letter confirming you are living with them and send that as well.

@blablub

Common in the UK is a utility bill (but this will most likely be in the name of the parents), a letter from a local authority or a government agency, or a recent bank statement.

If you move out, you are obliged to inform o2 immediately so that your connection can be deactivated. The use of the connection by someone else in return for payment is prohibited. However, another person can take over the contract for a fee. This has obviously not taken place here.

A Contract with a minimum term of 24 months shall be extended after expiry of the minimum term by a further 12 months in each case, unless it is terminated with three months' notice to the end of the minimum term or to the end of a respective extension period.

Whether the connection is used by you or not is irrelevant for the contractual relationship.

Thanks for the response. Sorry, I reposted in German to make it easier.

So if I cancel now will I have to pay an early cancellation fee? Vodaphone are saying the line has been cut/replaced by them, what is the situation in that case?

There is no special situation in that case.

Okay thanks.

So this goes back to my question: The contract has been renewed until 02/22 but I would like to cancel it now. What the cancellation fee in this case?

Hi,

I have moved back to the UK and so am cancelling my o2 contract as per this process:

I have moved in with my parents for now. What would be suitable to provide for these points?

  • a notification of your new foreign domicile
  • alternatively a confirmation of your employer or landlord

Would a bank statement, copy of ID or written letter from them suffice?

Thanks!

Robin

Hi,

I have tried asking a few times here without response: What can I give as proof of address if I’ve moved back in with my parents? I have a bank statement addressed here, or would a letter from them be better?

Thanks,

Robin

Since the UK seems to lack a residents' registration office, I would suggest you use what is common in the UK instead.

I’ve gone with a bank statement and a recent letter (from the NHS), both addressed to me at the UK address.

Hopefully it works, thank you!
