I've just recently discovered this forum after having some problems with my O2 account.  I noticed how when I first signed up, everyone seemed to speak English fluently, but when there was a problem, they insisted that I speak german or hung up on me immediately.

My DSL connection has been down after an upgrade (since 9th April), after finally getting a German friend to talk to their technical department, I was told that its Telekom's fault and that they could do nothing. They offered a 6GB USB dongle that I refused, even though they claim its free. I told them that 6gb wouldn't even last me 3 days and its pointless.

Less than 5 minutes later, I receive an email stating that I'm being charged 34.98 euros for a O2 Blue Data L Flex. Luckily I had a third-party witness who was listening to the whole conversation on speakerphone and is more than willing to testify. This obvious scam has really pissed me off and I contacted Daily Mail UK to see if they'll be interested in publishing this story.

I've noticed that many people are having problems terminating contracts, being charged unfairly etc. I believe its a scam this company operates to rip off their non-german speaking customers simply because they know that we cant escalate the issue.

I'm currently speaking with both Daily Mail and Sunday Mirror to see if they're interested in publishing this story. It would be better if an entire group got together with their evidence (recorded phone calls, letters and emails) and publish this case.

If anyone else is interested, please feel free to contact me on xxxxxx-at-xxxxxx (A temporary account I created just for this.)

Regards

Also, please note that anyone that has been scammed/ripped off, you can contact the ECC (European Consumer's Center). I noted how a mod here told a customer that was induced to signing a contract at a store that he has no recourse because he signed the contract (Even though he was misled and taken advantage off for not speaking german).

Well, since the mods are blocking my email address, just take my first name and add it to at xxxxxxxxx.com.

Hier haben keine Mods geblockt, sondern ich ... wenn dir die Regeln der Community nicht genehm sind, solltest du dir einen anderen Ort suchen, um dein Anliegen rauszubringen.

Sadly o2's customer/technical support for non-german speakers are so crap that we've no choice but to resort to this. This is the only resort left to stop o2 from scamming non-german speakers. I've already complied with the 'rules' and have not posted my contact directly.

Anyone interested in getting their stories published just contact me with my forum's name and the same email address.

Please, no cross posting.
