Hello, I am trying to identify my identity to activate a prepaid card, I went to post office with a paper special from O2 but they refused to do it because of the type of my Ausweis.

Then i tried to do it online from computer by camera, and they refused also to do it because my Ausweis is "Aufenthaltsgestattung".

And the agent who was on camera asked me to contact O2 prepaid support office.



is there anyone who could help me with this issue?

You can only use an electronic Aufenthaltstitel if you don't have a passport. The Aufenthaltsgestattung is not a valid Ausweis for the purpose of identity by the post office or using Video Ident. You might have more luck in an o2 shop.

I identified my identity using Aufenthaltsgestattung by Lebara and by AldiTalk, and its an official document to be used in Germany, but O2 has some strange rules these days.

A friend of mine live with me in the Camp used his Aufenthaltsgestattung to buy an iPhone with 2 years contract from O2 and it worked smoothly, how? no one knows. Anyway i will not try again with O2, i will stay with AldiTalk for my mobile use, and I bought Gigacube from Vodafone for 2 years contract using my Aufenthaltsgestattung. Hi, I have the same issue. I tryied with my pasport and my Aufenthaltstitel... but they just said that is not possible and then I don't have the option to go to the post office anymore. What could I do ?
