Hey B1765,
unfortunately I'm not allowed to enter the deactivation. Maybe you have a german friend who can help you?
Another way would be the cancellation by regular mail to:
Telefónica O2 Germany GmbH & Co. OHG
Kundenbetreuung
90345 Nürnberg
or Fax:
01805571766
Greetings,
Flo

Thank you very much for the quick response. Unfortunately, my friends have gone home, so basically I should solve this on my own.
If I want to do the cancellation by regular mail, what should I write? Should it be in English or German? Should I attach any relevant document?
Thank you 🙂
Hey B1765,
you can write your cancellation in englisch. Please mention your coustomer number and your mobil number and maybe the reason why you are quittin your contract.
It would be a good idea to send the letter via priority mail and order a certified mail with return receipt. Please ask your local mail shop about that!

Thanks again for your quick and very helpful response. So assuming that I will write my contract in English and tell my reason (I will leave Germany as I am an international student and I want to continue my studies elsewhere), I shouldn't attach any other documents, i.e. deregistration letter from Nurnberg Stadt, or flight tickets or something like that? I am asking this because I read on this website that customers were required to sent such things. Thank you!
Hey B176,
no Problem 🙂. I'm here to help!
If it is a termination for cause (in the ongoing period of your contract) then you have to (!) attach any document you have to prove that you are leaving the country, but if it is a normal termination (three months before the contract ends) you don't have to attech any documents.
Is that understandable to you?

Yes, thank you, you are very clear. My contract states that I should notify one month before termination. To quote it from the meine o2, "Kündigungsfrist: 1 Monat(e) zum Vertragsende", while package name is "DSL All-in S(2017) Flex". This means that I should only write a cancellation letter, right?
Hey,
ahh, it's about DSL 😃 ... !

Yes 🙂 That's correct!

Hello again, I hope you are doing good. I just received this email today:
"Sehr geehrter Herr D,
Does this mean that I have successfully cancelled the contract? If yes, will o2 come to my apartment to get the router or should I sent it to them?
Also here is an update in my o2 meine page:
- Vertragsbeginn: 23.08.2018
- Vertragsende: 22.09.2018
- Kündigungsfrist: 1 Monat(e) zum Vertragsende
Does this mean that after 22 September 2018 the contract will be canceled?
Sorry for bombarding you with questions and thank you for your help.
Hey B1765,
yes, yout contract will be canceled on the 22. September 2018 🙂.
You have to sent the router back to o2. That is a little bit compilcated. Use this link:
Link -> click on "Rücksendeauftrag" -> type in the serial number of your router -> you have to answer a "recaptcha" question, like "Click on all pictures with cars" e.g -> then you will be asked for the reason, click on "Kündigung" -> then you have to type in your personal data.
After that you should be able to print your "Retourenschein". It will be sent to your email adress.
Greetings,
Flo
Thank you very much o2_Flo, you have been a great help.
All the best.
