Hello o2 Service Customer.
My name is Jonathan Leroux and my Cel Phone is 0176 XXXXX967. I have a contract that finishes in May 2018. It's only the phone number (the phone is mine). However, I am leaving Germany in November 2017, and I will close my bank account. I want to pay the rest of my contract, which I also don't want to renew. I went to some o2 shops in Berlin, and I need a document I never had which is an Abmeldund (also I never had the Anmeldung). They also told me to call the 55222. I already called, maybe 10 times, 2 of them where answered but no English/Spanish/French/Portugues whatsoever. How do we proceed? I want to pay everything until May 2018, nice and easy, without any difficulties: one money transfer to the bank account, I send you the receipt as a proof, that would be great.
Looking forward to hearing from you ASAP,
Best regards,
Jonathan Leroux

Hello Jonathan,
for an extraordinary dismissal because of moving abroad you need to fill out the following form:
https://static2.o9.de/blob/12985654/v=3/Binary/contract-cancellation-moving-abroad-download.pdf
With this form you also have to hand in the forms that are asked for:
- a registration certificate of your present place of residence- a notification of your new, foreign domicile alternatively a confirmation of your employer or landlordThe deregistration form is also important. As well there is asked for an agreement that o2 charges 3 monthly basic fees as a replacement. Without these forms an extraordinary dismissal won't be possible. Please also note that it all won't happen in just 2 weeks. When all these forms are at the company you can contact us here, and we'll see if we can fasten the whole process. But still it would be better to leave the bank account open longer. Or you'll have to forward the money from abroad then, which will be more expensive I guess, but that's all up to you. Kind regards,Jessica

Good afternoon Jessica,
Thank you for your early reply. Regarding the documents, if this registration certificate of my address is this "Anmeldung or Abmeldung", until this day, I never had one I am quite sure I won't have one in the next few weeks either, since I am leaving now November the 2nd. I always stayed at a friend's place or hostels. Anyway, I will fill the cancellation contract and I have no problem to pay this agreement of 3 months basic fee, 9,99 x 3 = 29,97 €.
¿Foreign domicile registration? I think I can get one in Spanish. I am staying at my parent's place in Chile, so landlord or employer confirmation won't be possible either, but I will write all the details of my address since o2 needs it. I will send you my copy of my passports, both French and Chilean.
Now, what I actually wanted, it's to pay the rest of my contract, ergo until May 2018, everything in advance, because my bank account will be close the very first days of January 2018, the 7th to be more precise. So, actually I prefer this way, so everybody is happy and it's way easier. I only need a confirmation of o2 bank account, I do the money transfer for 15NOV-15-DIC-15-JAN-15FEB-15-MAR-15APR.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Have a good day,
Best regards,
Jonathan Leroux

Hello Jonathan,
when you do not have a confirmation of a fixed place of residence, you won't get a dergistration form as well. Which means that an extraordinary dismissal because of moving abroad is not possible.
Without these forms o2 does not operate that service.
So, your contract will go on until the normal runtime end.
Please keep in mind that if o2 can not charge the money of your bank account, you will get overdue fines and return debit fees as well. So, you can change the bank details, so that you transfer the money by yourself to o2 after you received the invoices. Otherwise it will get complicated.
You can also transfer more money, and see if there will be an amount open in the end which you need to transfer then.
Kind regards,
Jessica

Good morning dear Jessica,
Thanks. OK, I will leave my account open until May the 16th. May the 15th 2018 is my last payment since it is the normal runtime end of my contract and I will not renew it. Thank you for your information.

Hello, good afternoon Jonathan,
you're welcome!
I'm sorry I couldn't tell you anything else, but these are just the normal conditions for an extraordinary dismissale of the company.
Please do not forget to send the normal cancellation to the company! Otherwise your contract will get extended for 12 months more. The cancellation has to reach the company 3 months before the normal runtime end. So, the latest date would be the 6th of March 2018 (06.03.2018) for you!
Kind regards,
Jessica

Hello Jonathan,
for a regular cancellation there is no needed form to fill out.
You can just send your written cancellation by fax or post. That's the easiest ways.
Best regards to you as well!

Good morning dear Jessica,
Thank you for your replies so far. It has been helpful. I sent a cancellation form as you told. Easy and clear with more than 3 month of anticipation. This is the answer I received:
" Sehr geehrter Herr Leroux,
So far, except for you of course dear Jessica, my o2 Customer service has been the worst so far, with such poor manners and treat to me. Just for information. I refuse to pay for two reasons:
- Well there is no more money in the account, so in that sense it's not possible to pay.
- I did everything is what meant to do in the terms and conditions and still I have to continue to pay. REALLY?
- Rudeness in the reply. Somehow you cancel my contract, I still have to pay for 4 months and plus I have to pay extra for using my o2 number? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
So please, tell your colleagues, to do their job and find me a solution to this problem which shouldn't be of my concern.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Best regards,
Jonathan Leroux

What exactly is the problem? You said your contract expired in May 2018, and o2 have confrmed it ends on 6th June. Have you checked your contract? Is this no the correct date? In any case I don't see where you get four months from. Even if the date should be May it would be at most a few weeks.
Also, the final payment will be due after the last day of the contract because mobile contracts are paid for in arrears. If you are not using he phone and only have to pay the basic monthly fee then of course you can pay this in advance, but you will need to work out how much you will owe in the last invoice as this will most likley be less than a whole month.

Dear Jessica,
just one question. I will leave Germany and I will move to another flat in Italy. However, I will do the official registration in this new flat only once in Italy. So I will not have an official notification of my new, foreign domicile when I will send the documents for cancelling my O2 mobile contract. Furthermore I will not even have a new job for that period.
Can you tell me if a simple letter from the new landlord is fine and in case which he has to write in this letter?
Thanks a lot,
Matteo
