Hi, I have a 2 year postpaid contract with O2 that ends at 17/01/2019. I would like to cancel the contract when it ends. I read about number porting(portierung) but i am not really sure of the process, can someone explain in detail?

I am little confused, though. The headline says "Prepaid to Postpaid" while your text reads that you want to end the postpaid contract. Can you explain in detail what product you have and what product you want in the end?

Im sorry, was a typing mistake, i meant postpaid to prepaid, I am currently on the o2 blue basic contract.
Do i cancel my contract now first? The app, Mein o2, states that the latest i can cancel my contract is on the 17/10. After the cancellation using the app, then i get a o2 prepaid sim card and select "rufnummer zu o2 mitnehmen"?

dear Jotham,
moving a phonenumber inside the o2 world is not allowed. So you can't take your o2 Postpaid number with you to o2 prepaid.
