Hi, my O2 contract ends on 31.01.2018 and on the phone O2 customer service told i can simply ask a new provider to take the number (that was few weeks ago). But today i have received a letter from Vodafone that they could not port my number due to the reason that i am not the owner of the number / name is wrong (Ablehnung: Kunden- / Name falsch)
Can someone help to figure out? I need a new number as soon as O2 contract ends (which is rather urgent). I appreciate your help.

I just have checked your cancellation status. Due to a technical error, we could not yet deactivate your contract.
Therefore, I just informed our technical department about this issue.
Please wait until we have deactivated your contract. Then try again to order the porting of your number at your new provider.
