I have ordered a new sim card and I do not want to activate it anymore. It's a prepaid sim so I did not pay anything for it. Do I just ignore the SIM card or do I have to send an email to this situation?

In this case feel free to just ignore it, you don't need to send a specific info to o2.
Just keep in mind that if you decide to use it some time in the future, it may be necessary to order a new one, as it will be deactivated if it isn't used at all.
