Hello, I'm leaving Germany on August 16th and going back to me home country and therefore I would like to terminate my cellphone contract early.



I know I need to send the special form with the Abmeldung and something showing I'm going to live in another country.



The problem is I can only get the Abmeldung 1 week prior to my departure.



I will be closing my bank account before leaving the country. I understand the process to terminate my contract takes time and that I need to pay the fee from 3 months. Is there any way to make this process go faster? What options do I have? And also could you please send me the form I need to send.

Click on the link below to find the contract cancellation form we reqiure. As far as the fee is concerned, it will be due at once, but you can transfer it as well. So there is no need for you to keep your bank account just to make the payments to us 😉

no, I cannot guarantee that it will be done that quickly. What you do is fill out and sent the form alongside the proper documentation as soon as you have it. We will then cancel your contract and send a final bill to you, which you can then pay for by bank transfer, for example. This way, you will not have to keep you bank account and you won't be charged monthly. But it may take more than a week before all the documentation is processed.

Nico, can you change my payment method to Transfer? Because I would also have to transfer the August bill because I will close my bank account in Germany before you can debit the amount from it.

What info do I need to put on the transfer so they know it's the August bill?




Check the invoice, the upper right corner on page 1. It says "Rechnungsnummer" and "Kundennummer", if you put those down as the reason for transfer, that should work.

I don't haven't received the invoice for August yet. Does it work with the number from July?




Unfortunately not, but couldn't you wait for the next invoice?



Alternately you can pay it in cash in an o2 Shop, just tell them to allocate it to your phone number and make sure to kget a receipt.




I can't wait because I'm leaving Germany before the invoice arrives. I'll go the the O2 shop and pay there then. Thank you.
