Hi all. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but here goes anyway. I'm traveling to the US from Germany next week and was hoping to get a better data plan that o2's awful 6MB for €1.99 plan. Why they would even offer something so small as 6 mb's in 2018 is completely beyond me. I use that up in a minute. Is there any other option for me instead of always having to fork over the €1.99 when I want to use my phone where there isn't Wi-Fi? Why can't they have a more sensible flat rate? Really o2. Get with it!

No.

Because the vast majority of customers wouldn't be prepared to pay what it would cost.

Outside the EU it is always better to use a prepaid SIM from the country you are visiting if you plan to use the Internet. And 1.99 for 6MB is better than the 0.49 € / 50 KB some other providers charge. There are some providers that offer day passes for around 6 Euros for 50MB which is a bit cheaper, but you are still much better off with a local prepaid SIM.
