Hi..I am leaving Germany and going back India. I am leaving Germany on 31st October 2017. I therefore want to cancel my mobile phone contract with O2. I went to Bürgerbüro to get a documnet that I am deregistering myself from the city (Konstanz) I live in Germany. But they told me that I would not get any document before 30th October 2017 since this is too early and I will be staying in Konstanz till the end of October. Can I provide a copy of my resignation letter (countersigned by my boss) instead of the document from Bürgerbüro and fax it to O2. I have also filled out the necessary form required to cancel my contract. Please tell me what is required to be done such that I cancel my contract with O2 here in Germany and then use my mobile handset with a different telephone operator in India? I look forward to your response.
Best, Ritwika.

Hello Ritwika,
so, you already filled out this form:
https://static2.o9.de/blob/12985654/v=3/Binary/contract-cancellation-moving-abroad-download.pdf
An extraordinary dismissal because of moving abroad can only be done with the deregistration paper.
You can already send everything else to o2 (the registration form of your new place of residence, or a confirmation of your company or anything, as well as a letter of agreement that o2 is allowed to charge 3 monthly basic fees as a replacement).
As soon as you have the deregistration form then, just send a Fax/ letter again with it to the company, with the note that this was still missing and that it belongs to that cancellation.
You can contact me here then when you sent everything and I can see if we can fasten the whole process a little.
But keep in mind that it can all take a little time, so leave your bank account open here in Germany for at least 2 months more.
Kind regards,
Jessica
