Hello,

I am not in Germany anymore and I would really like to solve my contract cancellation once and for all. I had a 2-year student contract that I tried to cancel one month before the 2 years were completed. So I went to the O2 shop in Dessau on the 30.08.2016 and I canceled my contract, but I've been told that I would be able to use my phone until the end of the following month. When I came back to the same O2 shop one month later, on the 30.09.2016, I've been told by another person that the contract was in fact not canceled and that I should have given a 3-month notice before canceling it. So I've been told that I would still have to pay for it for 3 more months, even if I'm not using it anymore and even though I tried to cancel it one month before. So I have still been paying for it, but it's already January and O2 is still charging me for it. I want to understand why I'm paying for something that I'm not using anymore and that was canceled 4 months ago. I'm not living in Germany anymore and I am going to cancel my german bank account, so I would like to make sure my contract is really canceled.

Thank you in advance.

Hello anak,

for a normal cancellation, that always has to reach the company 3 months before the runtime end, it should have reached the company at the 30.06.2016. But your cancellation was later than that, so it was extended automatically for 12 months. The end of your contract is now the 30.09.2017.

If you want to make an extraordinary dismissal because of moving abroad use the attached form and send it to the company. There are also mentioned other forms that you have to hand in as well. All the documents that are needed are mentioned in it.

Kind regards,

Jessica ☺️
