Hi,

Total noob here with Internet and especially the way Germany deals with it.

So I bought a new router because my Homebox was resetting a lot of times and I thought well it's getting old time for a new one. So I followed all the steps from the TP-LINK Archer C1200 AC1200 Dual Band WiFi Gigabit Router (for Connecting to Cable/DSL/Fibre Optic Modem) and everything seems fine but I am not getting internet access. I have no idea how  to solve this issue and would like to use my new router.

How can I solve this, I've seen online that I need to setup something but as said before I am not that good with this.

Thank you ☺️

such a router is useless without a modem. I assume, that you have a WAN-port instead a VDSL-Modem-input.

Interface4 10/100/1000Mbps LAN Ports

1 10/100/1000Mbps WAN Port

1 USB 2.0 Ports

no comment regarding VDSL-Interface. WAN is only for ethernet input, not for VDSL!

WAN TypeDynamic IP/Static IP/PPPoE/L2TP(Dual Access)/PPTP(Dual Access)

You may connect the router via LAN to the Homebox, but that makes no sense to avoid the described problems.

The TP Link is just a wireless router.

Can the TP Link be connected to the Homebox?

So in other words, I need a modem for the telephone cable from the wall? and then I connect the modem to the router. Do I need anything else ?

If possible, return router to seller. With modems and such router nobody can help you and you have no phone line.

my personal proposal:

1. call Störungshotline and request a new homebox or order a Fritzbox (rental) due to the problems  OR

2. buy or rent a Fritzbox 7490/7430 or higher modell number

Thanks for the advice Klaus, I walk to Saturn today and buy the Fritzbox 7430! ☺️
