We realised now, when we received the bill that we are charged 30 € and 7.50 € instead of 25 € (for 2GB) and 5 € (1 GB), as discussed in the O2 shop one month ago. In the meantime your representative insisted to make a 2 years contract even if we mentioned that we here until September 2017 (exchange student), explaining us that the simple document conforming our departure (from KVR) is sufficient to resiliate the contract without penalties. Please confirm. I'm starting having doubts once that I saw the bill. Were we mislead as we are foreigners?

I don't understand if the text that appears on my screen is a response from your. It seems mixed with my message and maybe some parts missing..

What is important in the end is what is mentioned in the written contract that you signed by yourself in the shop.

Instead of the runtime contract o2 also offers Flex tariffs that can be cancelled every month.

But as you said it sounds like you have a runtime contract. If you want to cancel it because of moving abroad you will have to send a cancellation with a special cancellation form of o2, the deregistration letter of your place of residence (when you leave Germany again), as well as a registration form of your new place of residence in your home country, and an agreement letter that o2 is allowed to charge 3 months basic fees as a replacement.

So, for you, the best would have been to make a flex contract or a prepaid card...

And also in the contract papers you find the basic fees as well as the discount you should get. With them you can check if there is something missing on your invoice. If there is something unclear you can also write here and we will check that together. ☺️

Kind regards,

Jessi

Hello Jessica,

When we went to the shop we bought initially a Prepaid Starter Kit. So approximately two weeks later we went back and we were interested about the Flex plan as we will be leaving Germany in September 2017 (exchange student for one year only). The contacted representative told us that we should better have a plan that will not imply any penalties even if it is a two-year contract. We specifically asked about this issue since in Canada you cannot break a contract without penalties. She mentioned that because we are leaving the country and O2 cannot provide anymore the service, penalties don’t apply. Plus, we have our own phones.

I visited two shops in my neighborhood and I had the same explanation regarding the ending of the contract based of the deregistration certificate from KVR. On Belgradstrasse they proposed this type of contract to all foreign students coming in the shop at that time of the year (October).

As for the contract, I do not see the applicable fees. I attached you the forms that I signed at the shop, which are in German (that we don’t speak).

Based on our discussion in the shop we were supposed to pay 25 EURO / month (2GB) for 176 6xxxxxx0 and 5 EURO / month (1GB) for 176 2xxxxxx5 and no connection fees.

If you look on the bills, for 176 6xxxxxx0 we have a bill of 30.99 EURO FOR ONE DAY (14 of October 2016) and one of 29.99 EURO for the period 15 October – 14 November 2016.

As for 176 2xxxxxx5 we have a bill of 6,25 EURO FOR ONE DAY (14 of October 2016) and one of 13.00 EURO for the period 15 October – 14 November 2016 – charges abroad are correct.

So please help us find common grounds about these issues.

Best regards,

Bogdan and Laura Pamfil

Hello Jessica,

We are still waiting for a response.

I'm sorry for our missing answer. This shouldn't happen, but sometime it does that we miss a thread.

I just reread your query now and afterwards I answer you!

According your mobile phone number 01762xxxxxx5 ⚠️

It is the o2 Blue Basic contract, which has a monthly basic fee of 9,99€. Your contract says that you get a discount of 24x 2,50€. That discount of 2,50€ is also active and you can find it in all the invoices that you got until now.

The first invoice that you had in October was only for one day, that is correct. And the basic fee that you had to pay for that was about 30 cent. The rest amount is because of the usage, the connections that are not included to that basic fee (automatic data upgrade as you can see in your invoice). That's why the first invoice is 6,25€ for "just one day".

The same its also with the other invoices after that. You can always see your basic fee, the discount of 2,50€ as named in the contract letter, plus the connections and usage that is not included.

Everything is correct with this one.

About your other number 01766xxxxxx0 ⚠️

As I see you already got the payback for the connection fee.

Also the discount that you have of 5€ is active, which you can see in your invoice (the discount for young people). But you also have the o2 Free Option which costs 5€ (afteryour data volume is done you can still use the internet with 1 M/bit). So in the end you still pay 29,99€, which is also correct now.

Kind regards,

Jessica
