Cancellation due to moving away from Germany

Hi,

I need to cancel my O2 mobile phone contract and here is my situation:

  • We plan to move away from Germany on Feb 1, 2019
  • We do not know our new address yet so I can't complete the cancellation form.
  • We are told by KVR that we cannot file the deregistration until at least a week before departure so we are not able to provide any deregistration confirmation from them.
Based on the above situation, my questions are:
1/ Please advise what documents am I required to send, by what format (post, fax or email?) and when is the deadline to submit in order to make sure the contract ends on Feb 1, 2019?
2/ How much will the 3 months basic rate that I will need to pay?

Thanks for the link! 🙂 But am I required to submit the form 3 months prior to my departure date? (I've read there's something about 3 months notice..?) The prob is I do not know my new address yet, and I won't receive my deregistration confirmation sooner than 2 weeks before my departure date.

Hi Cdy,

yes, there is a three month notice period regarding your contract. I would suggest that you send the cancellation first without the deregistration, because there is at least a cancellation within the notice period and the deregistration later. ;)
