Push Messages

Apologies for writing in English.

My UK bank sends me text messages via SMS Push Messages but I do not receive them. I ahve a Sumsung S5. Is there setting I need to enable to receive this type of message? I do receive other SMS messages.

Then it may indeed be a setting you need to adjust in your phone, though I would have thought this should be activated as standard. Unfortunately I don't really know what else to suggest, but maybe somebody else here has an idea.

    Push and SMS are two different things. SMS should work normally as long as the bank sends to non-UK mobile numbers (most do, some I know don't). For Push messages you normally need an App installed. Have you been able to receive these messages from the bank on another mobile phone?

      Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I only have access to one phone. The messages that are sent are one-time-passcodes for on-line banking. I don't think I need an app on the phone for this. Sorry it's a bit vague!

      OK, but these are probably just normal text messages sent from the bank's server. German banks often use so-called M-TANS (mobile transaction numbers) to authorise online banking transactions and these are also just ordinary SMS. I suspect the bank's server (or its SMS provider) is unable to send the text to the German mobile number. Have you asked them about this?

        I spoke to the bank this morning and they claim that messages have been sent when I requested them, that they can send to a German mobile and that they have the correct number. But they did say I need to be able to receive Post messages.Hence the original question. Thanks again.
