My contract was automatically extended by 1 year and now I am supposed to pay 30 euros for all net flat and 1GB internet which in my opinion is nothing but rip off? Any tips to change my contrat back to 15 euros which I had been paying prior to the extension?

You will need to extend your contract for 2 years to be eligible for discounts again. It's not a rip-off, but the contract you concluded. Discounts are only valid for 2 years, which is why you are now paying the standard price for the tarif.

I am ready for the 2 year extension but the price they offered is still double of what I was paying. Rip off because I get better offers for just 10 euros from a host of third party providers for all net flat and 3GB data.

Because you think you can get a better deal elsewhere that's a rip-off? Rather strange attitude, but if that's what you think then why didn't you terminate your o2 contract on time and switch providers? That's really nobody's fault but your own.

As you are now bound for the next 12 months, the best thing you can do is to say what tarif you would like and a moderator will then be able to tell you what price they can offer you. You can then choose to either accept the offer and stay for the next 2 years or decline it and pay the 30 Euros until the 12 months expires (but don't forget to terminate the contract on time, i.e. at least three months before the end of the term!).

Exactly that's what I am trying to say. If a business model tries to make money by going for the kill (in this case doubling the fee for the same conditions) when a customer "forgets" to cancel his contract on time its a sorry state of affairs much like credit card companies. If O2 was so ethical they could have atleast sent in a reminder email that the contract was going to be extended. Any ways O2 just lost a customer of 5 years!!!

Why should a company remind a customer that their discounts expire after 24 months?
Companies do not work according to the welfare principle, but in a market economy.
On the bills is clearly visible, how long the discounts are valid ... if the customer does not act in time then, you can hardly chalk the company.

Sorry, but you don't seem to understand. Your contract tarif was not doubled after 2 years, it was reduced by half for 2 years as per your agreement when you entered into the contract. I can understand your frustration, but your expectations are not realistic. And if you think other companies (mobile, broadband, electricity, gas, fitness studio, insurance, send a reminder when a fixed-term contract is about to be extended automatically at the rate agreed on when you signed up then you will unfortunately be in for a dissapointment.

From your text it looks like you are not interested in an offer for an extension, so can this thread be closed?

I am definitely looking for an extension which I have been doing for the last years but for the same amount that I was paying...

Whether that price is possible is something a moderator will have to look at for you. Do you want to keep the tarif you have now or switch to a different one? The more information you provide on what you would like the easier it will be for a moderator to make you an offer.

I was paying 15 euros for all net flat + 1GB internet. As per the extension I have to pay 30 euros for all net flat + 1GB internet. I am looking for an offer for all net flat + 1 to 2 GB for 15 euros. Is it possible?

O yes the customer is the one to blame because he has forgotten which is such a big crime. So penalise him so that he never ever repeats the crime ☺️

Irony will not get you anywhere ... so wait until an O2 presenter latches you in and makes you an offer.

Obviously it is not a crime but yes, in this case, the customer IS the one to blame.

My issue has been resolved. For those in a similar situation please do not get panic. IMO do not visit the O2 shops as the offers they have are not the best. Contact the O2 customer care guys by scheduling a callback. This option is available in your O2 account page.
