Hi,

I am living in the USA after 5 years living in Germany. I wish to cancel my contract and faxed in the form for contract cancelation that i found in some of the post on the english community.

I also added the proof of my employment in the USA.

I was now informed by a German friend that due to my cancelation being for moving abroad I would not have to pay three additional months of fees.

Could you please clarify if I have to pay the three additional months and can you confirm if you have received my cancellation form.

Thank you in advance.
Hi Filipe86,

Hi,

I was now informed by a German friend that due to my cancelation being for moving abroad I would not have to pay three additional months of fees.

I´am sorry, but this is not correct. If you cancel your contract earlier because you leaving germany to live in another country, you must pay the charge.

Your cancellation form ist arrived, but we still need your deregistration form from germany.

Regards,

Marc

Thank you for the information Marc. One question:

I got an email with another form and requesting the deregistration. Do I have to send the new form as well and can I send the deregistration via fax as I did for the other documents?
Hi Filipe86,

we only need the deregistration form. Therefore you can send this document via fax without other documents.

Marc
Hi Filipe86,

do you still have another question? Or is everything allright now?

Regards,

Marc
Hi Marc,

I have just faxed the deregistration form to you guys. Whenever you get it can you please confirm that you received it and that you have everything for the cancellation process.

Thank you for all the help

Hello @Filipe86,

I can confirm now that we have received the deregistration form. It got forwarded to the right department and they will handle the cancellation process. 🤓

Kind regards,

Jessica
Hello Jessica,

Thank you for the info. One last thing. I got an email saying that the contract termination process was going forward and that the contract would be terminated by phone call the next day. I tried to reply to that email saying that my phone was no longer active but got no answer so far. Is the phone call necessary if you already have all the documents?

Thank you in advance.

Best,

-Filipe
Hi @Filipe86,

the most important news straight ahead: your contract was successfully terminated on 13th April. 🙂

As far as I can see, the phone call mentioned in the email was just a misunderstanding: it meant to say the mentioned number would be deactivated on that date.

So you will receive a final bill by the end of April which will cover the fee for the cancellation as well as the usual costs up until 12th April.

Once that one is paid, you're done.

(There is a slight possibility that some phone calls or text messages are charged with a delay, which would result in a small extra bill a month after the final payment. This is very unlikely, but I just wanted to mention it so that you're not suprised in case it happens.)

Best regards,

Jan.
