Anschlusspreis Problem

Guten Tag,

I had to paid the 49,99€ Anschlusspreis for my Fritzbox connection but it is a mistake I was not supposed to pay because the technician was able to do everything normally since I had prepared the installation exactly as O2 told me. How can I get my refund?

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards,

Moin Moin,

that’s a fix fee. An administration fee.
has nothing to do with plug-in your router.

thats always your part.

Yes, it is very expensive. Actually I don’t understand why people decide to rent a router from o2 for such very high prices. Let’s say you decide to rent a Fritzbox 7590 for 24 month, so you pay to o2 49,99 EUR+9,99 EUR shipping+ 24x5,99 EUR monthly rent. Total costs 203,74 EUR and the Fritzbox is still property of o2, you have to return it to o2. But the purchase price for a Fritzbox 7590 at Amazon is only 159 EUR.

That’s for the people that do not calculate…

A FRITZ!Box 7530 for most people’s a good router and better than a HomeBox is about 110€ - 50€ You pay „60€“ for a better router no monthly fee for the home box.

But if you order the contract online the router is always „off“...

Dear blablup,

That’s a shame ! So my 130€ are not a mistake ? Thank you for explaining, the thing is I did not know that when I subscribed because I just moved in Germany and in my country it doesn’t work like that at all ! You pay for the internet box and when you unsubscribe you send it back and they give you back your deposit if nothing is damaged. But here I will not get my money back ? Which operator could you suggest then?

Schönen Tag !

I don’t remember which Fritzbox I have but I didn’t have the choice when subscribing to my o2 contract...

I thought the router came along with the contract, I did not know it was something to rent, it is the first time I see this. So next time it is better to have your own router apart from your internet line contract?

Yes in Germany you are allowed to use your own router. It is still possible to buy you own 7530 and to send the Router back to O2 so you have not to pay the monthly fee.

Ok thank you but in my invoice I have the mensuality + the 4,99€ monthly fee + 69,99€ Einmaliger Anschlusspreis O2 DSL + 49,99€ Anschlusspreis Option AVM FritzBox… So even without the router renting I still don’t understand these installation fees

69,99 is administration fee for the DSL line “customer setup for billing e.g.”

49,99 is administration fee for the Router to Setup the rent contract

4,99 is the monthly fee for the router.

Oh ok there are fees to setup something you will have to pay for…

Thank you for your answers

Of course you have the choice. This is a screen shot of the order screen on the o2 website. You can select if you want to rent a router and what kind of router you what to rent. All prices are shown.
If you did not order at o2, please complain where you have ordered. It’s within their responsibility to make sure that all agreed discounts are passed on to o2.

It was on Check24 and only one FRITZ!Box was suggested. Since I don’t speak German very good yet and none of them speaks English, I thought if I didn’t take this FRITZ!Box I wouldn’t have the internet, only the telephone.

Check24 usually only sells 24-month contracts. For 24-month contracts, there is usually a 100% discount on the router provision price of 49.99 EUR. Please check your invoice for this discount, please read all pages of the invoice.

Without a VDSL router you can neither use the internet nor telephony. It is the customer's responsibility to order a suitable VDSL router or to obtain a VDSL router independently.
If you do not speak the local language, you are welcome to use translation tools. Especially German->English works quite well.

I don’t have any minimum term so I think this is the explanation. Thank you.

At Check24 you can also choose your router and you can order without a rental router.

This is how it looks on the check24 website:
