DSL cancellation - Moving out of Germany

Hello, I have DSL 24momths contract in Cologne. The contact started on January 2020. Since I move out of Germany permanently, I would like to cancel my contract. I'll go back to Japan in two weeks. Due to this pandemic situation, I can't go to city hall to deregister address. I sent them documents by email for deregister address but no response so I don't think I will get the certification of deregister from them.

All I can provide to O2 are the flight ticket which mentions going back to Japan and also Visa expires 13th February 2021. I'll stay in parents house in Japan so I can't provide renting contract in Japan.

I visited O2 shop to ask but the stuff just told me to ask online service. Could somebody tell me if flight ticket and visa are enough for cancellation? Or what do I need? I'm also renting router from them.

Thank you so much in advance

As far as I read on the website of the city of Cologne, appointments at the Bürgerbüro are still possible. In urgent cases, an appointment by phone is possible. Provided you are under quarantine yourself, deregistration by mail (letter) is also possible if a copy of your ID is attached to the completed and signed deregistration form. Therefore, I cannot see any reason why it should be impossible to submit a deregistration certificate to o2.
Since the notice period for term contracts is 3 months from the move date, you also have enough time to get the deregistration certificate.
If you have received a router from o2, it must be returned to o2 upon termination. Use the o2 DSL return portal for this.

Thank you for your prompt answer.

I tried online appointment, but it's only available to choose the date after March 13th. But I will leave Germany in 2 weeks and it says I can only submit deregistration 2weeks before moving out.  I called Büro for urgent appointment, the stuff said it's only available after March. Yes, I sent them documents by post but I haven't got any reply ( certificate ). I don't think I'll get a reply from them since my address is deregistered.

Hi @Rena123566

welcome to our community. :relaxed:

@blablup already gave you the right information. I just have to complete the point of sending a proof you really left the country for good. We exceptionally accept the one way flight ticket and the expiring VISA so please fill in the form and send a copy of these documents to the adresse mentioned on the paper.

Please remember the device.

Greetings
