Swapped to eSim on my new iPhone 16 Pro Max, now I get a constant voicemail notification.

okay, first of all, I activated the visual voicemail to check if it stopps this way. If not, please try this:

Deleting all your voicemails. This might kick whatever voicemail is causing the notification, if that is the root of the issue.

Leave yourself a new voicemail. You’ve probably gotten voicemails since the issue started, but if not this could cause the voicemail system from your carrier to refresh and acknowledge which voicemails have been listened to.

Reset all settings. This one isn’t super intrusive but is usually more of a last resort. If there’s some setting you missed, or one you have turned off but the OS thinks it’s turned on, this would cause the OS to reset all settings to default.

Could you please get back to us to see if any of these tipps succeeded?

Greetings

@chrisgramst @o2_Giulia How was this fixed? I am facing this issue as well. But the o2 prepaid customer care wont talk to me in English, so unable to discuss this with them.

Hi @heisenberg1602

welcome to our community. Nice to meet you. 🙂

What exactly is the problem? Do you have a red dot on your screen as a notification? Or anything else?

Greetings

Hi @o2_Manga, nice to meet to you as well :)

You wrote it right - there is a constant red dot on the screen (Phone app) as a notification. Won’t go away no matter what. I have no new voicemail either.

Hi @o2_Manga thanks for your help! The activation of visual voicemail, and then a phone restart worked! Thanks again - this is such a relief :)

That is great that the voicemail notification is no longer shown on your new iPhone 16 Pro Max, thank you for your feedback, @heisenberg1602 🙂

@o2_Manga @o2_Gerrit it is back again. the red dot on your screen as a notification came up again. I missed a call last night and it just came back :(
I checked for any new voicemail, but there is none.

Can you please do your magic again and fix it?

Hello @heisenberg1602,

can you try to activate the visual voicemail vie calling 331, then choose 9 and afterwards 8 to change the settings for viisual voicemai?

Then you can activate in order for the red notification dot to disappear.

Best Regards,

Gerrit

Hi @o2_Gerrit , thanks for your message. Sorry to say, I already have tried this in the past - but it doesn’t work. when @o2_Manga did it, the issue was solved instantly. Can we please do it again?

@o2_Gerrit Thanks but it didn’t work this time, unfortunately. Is there some other way to do it? Maybe walk into a o2 store? What do you suggest?

@heisenberg1602

could you please retry the steps? The voicemail was still deactivated, I hope this is not a deeper problem.

Greetings

@o2_Manga unfortunately, nothing helps here. It’s still there after trying all the steps you mentioned earlier :(

Hello @heisenberg1602,

I apologize for our later answer, your thread seems to have slipped under the radar.

Do you still have the constant voicemail notification on your phone?

Only currently you are registered here in our o2 Community via a Prepaid number, for which visual voicemail is not available and cannot be changed by us.

Best Regards,

Gerrit
